To help with the cost of living, @andyburnham is capping buses at £2 across England - giving millions of people cheaper travel.

It’s really low to go after Andy Burnham’s wife’s physical appearance. Targeting someone’s family member on looks is a cheap shot that has no place in serious debate.
Focus on the decisions, the policies, and the accountability instead.
Personal attacks like that achieve nothing and only weaken the argument and bring us down to their level.
English

@TharriesYT You are frankly a brain washed simpleton if you actually believe this.

Because all evidence suggests right wing extremism is the largest cause of terrorism in the UK.
Matt Goodwin@GoodwinMJ
Why aren’t we having a national debate about left-wing extremism? Has anybody else noticed that?

@veryfathomer 50 and 60% is just not fair for anyone regardless of their earnings

@DefenceHQ @wesstreeting Don’t be fiddling the numbers as the defence secretary

@wesstreeting hit the ground running on his first day as Defence Secretary 👇

Not even 24 hours in, and Andy’s already delivering at pace.
✅ Scrapping VAT on household energy bills.
✅ Taking immediate action to end rough sleeping.
✅ Appointing a fantastic Cabinet.
When Andy said he was for us, he meant it. 🙌
Andy Burnham@andyburnham
I said I would give people a bit more breathing space. Today I’m taking immediate action - cutting taxes on energy bills to put more money in your pocket.

She didn’t give a shit about a single child - or teacher - at a single independent school. So spare us the valedictory bullshit - she’s a nasty, spiteful cow and we’re all glad she’s gone.
Ed Dorrell@Ed_Dorrell
@bphillipsonMP On educational issues I have only ever found her to be forensically focussed on the interests of children. She navigated potentially tricky issues of curriculum and school system delicately. She also ushered in an ambitious set of reforms in the skills sector. But... 3/6
English

@bphillipsonMP Good to see you can’t ruin education anymore. What are you going to bollocks up now ?
How you stayed in a job is beyond me

Proud to be asked to continue in Cabinet, driving forward the work of the Office for Equality and Opportunity.
I will work across government to make progress on this serious agenda – on violence against women and girls, on equal pay, on child poverty.
UK Prime Minister@10DowningStreet
Bridget Phillipson will remain a full member of Cabinet as Minister for Women and Equalities, reporting to the Prime Minister.

@Bill_Davidson01 Yeah …..surely there must be better people in the Labour govt 🤷♂️

Do I have any sympathy for Rachel Reeves? After what she knowingly inflicted on millions of farmers, small business owners, hard working British men and women?
No. I have no sympathy, whatsoever. Zero.
She is responsible for so much unnecessary pain. The embarrassment she is feeling today doesn’t even scratch the surface of the shame and hardship millions of Brits have endured directly because of her incompetence.
Bankrupt businesses, livelihoods destroyed, so many sleepless nights, laying off decent colleagues, family companies closed after decades in business? Directly thanks to Rachel Reeves.
She’s not fit to be a parish councillor, never mind chancellor.
Her talents would be better suited to mindless admin in a dead-end HR department.
Too many times I have sat in the chamber listening to her talk ‘business’, and it is genuinely terrifying that she was ever in charge of our economy. I couldn't care less that she's a woman or that she cried in Parliament.
She is incompetent.
What a sorry judgement Rachel Reeves is on British politics in 2026.
I look forward to the day when individuals of her talent find their correct level in a genuinely capitalist society - cleaning other people’s shoes.
What I would give for a Chancellor with actual business experience - employed people, built businesses, generated opportunities. Done something.
That is exactly who a Restore Britain Government will deliver.

Congratulations, dear @andyburnham, on your confirmation as Prime Minister.
I look forward to working with you to strengthen the EU-UK partnership.
For the security of our shared continent.
And the prosperity of people on both sides of the Channel.
