They really are coming for your kids. This new research article aims to convert "Circle Time"—a practice where young children are read picture books, listen to songs, or participate in other fun educational activities—into sites of queer indoctrination. The author laments that Circle Time's ubiquity means that "its function is often taken for granted." This is seen as an opportunity for it to be "queerly reimagined" into Queer Circle Time by exposing children (ages 3-5) to "a selection of 2SLGBTQI+ picture books about gender nonconformity." Queer Circle Time is asserted to be an "urgently needed and replicable pedagogical practice for [early childhood education]."
