@MehdiHacks I designed a holder and printed it with TPU to hold my swiss army knife with my mini knipex pliers. In my pocket every day.

@byte_thrasher You only need one digital io pin to do the RC charge / discharge timing.
English

ok, now that I've heard some good ideas, suggest regarded ways of achieving this with a single pin - *NO ADC*

I want one of my PCBs to be able to report its revision number to the MCU. I can dedicate exactly one pin to this task. What is the cheapest and easiest way to do this? Let's assume 20 revs (lol). First idea that comes to mind is a simple voltage divider. Might be good enough

I set up the first devices in the new laboratory. The electronics laboratory is now fully air-conditioned. Stable temperatures for calibration. Soon the work tables will be set up. #hp #agilent #keysight #tektronix #rohdeubdschwarz

@byte_thrasher Do RC charge / discharge timing. Drive pin high to charge, C. Then, time how long it takes to discharge to go low. Adjust RC values per rev.

@davepl1968 I used to have some of those boards. I remember they used amd bit slice processors.

@BoscoMac The 12th and 13th generation Dell servers are amazing on power usage and are very inexpensive on the used market. I replaced all my old supermicro and older Dell 2950 servers with them a while back. They pay for themselves in terms of a lower electric bill in just a few months.

@RueNahcMohr Early pentiums were stupid expensive. The DX4-100 was amazing at the time. I waited a year and bought The Cyrix 5x86 instead for a fraction of the price. It was the best option for a socket 3 at the time.

@RueNahcMohr Even if you didn't hear it, the smell is unmistakable. You would know 😄

@RueNahcMohr It's an NEC D70236AGD 16 bit micro. I've located some for around $30. I've also been digging through my parts for one, the Japanese gear uses a lot of nec micros.

@bradthx I'm asking as I have a lot of old printers that have odd processors on them, if its an 78xx? 87xx?... anyhow I might have one. looks like your firmware is on a ROM :]
