A LEEDS United star's Land Rover smashed into a police car outside the club's stadium - ahead of the team's must-win play-off semi-final tonight
The incident happened as players were set to report to Elland Road this morning ahead of the crunch second-leg Championship clash with Norwich City.
Pictures show a Land Rover Defender, belonging to defender Charlie #Cresswell, and a severely damaged West Yorkshire Police patrol car.
Eyewitness saw Cresswell, 21, was driving the £60,000 4x4 when the collision happened.
Emergency services attended the smash, near to the club ticket office on Elland Road, which happened shortly before 10.15am this morning.
A police officer sustained minor injuries, the West Yorkshire Police said.
A force spokesperson said: "At 10.13am today (Thursday), police were notified of a collision involving a police car and a Land Rover Defender on Elland Road, Leeds.
"An officer received medical treatment for minor injuries. "No other injuries were reported."
The force said enquiries were "ongoing" into the circumstances of the collision.
Debris from the crash could be seen scattered on the road outside the West Stand.
Leeds United face their biggest game of the season tonight in the Championship play-offs.
The winner of tonight's tie with Norwich City will head to Wembley to battle for a place in the Premier League.
Preston-born Cresswell has been a regular substitute for Daniel Falke's side but has found minutes on the pitch hard to come by.
Leeds United were approached for comment. fb.watch/s5Mdz2RTkd/

@declanGilll Diabolical mate. Fair play for coming back but how on earth were we 2-0 down. This squad should not be battling in this league it should be dominating
