UPDATE 5/1/26: Rodrigo Curiel was sentenced to just over four years in the Indiana Department of Correction with a jail credit of 559 days and 3,640 days suspended after he pleaded guilty to a level 3 felony for rape.
In exchange for the plea deal, the state dismissed three additional rape, strangulation and escape charges that were pending against him in the case.
In a separate case, he agreed to plead guilty to a level 5 felony for child solicitation. He received a 910-day sentence that was ultimately suspended.
In our story we do not have anything on his legal status. I did just check some public documents though and I see that he is here illegally. I will bring this up to our team.
