@SageOnX @eliteprospects Misa went from part time player for 7 games, then got hurt, then went to the AHL for conditioning, then sent to WJC, then came back and finally got his footing. He’s been a lot better post break but not playing against men like frondell has hurt him at the start

@eliteprospects Way too soon to say. Schaefer is the only one who’s played a complete season. Misa started in the AHL, then on 3rd line, then had a small injury period. Other two just debuted.

@ConnorF1878 I said it last week but I honestly don't think fullbacks exist anymore at the top level outside of Nuno who's the oddity. You're either a CB, CM or WF.

Lucien Agoume? Carlos Baleba? Angelo Stiller? 🔺Building a midfield around players that are 22-24 y/o and not quite established is scary — but what options are there? If Anderson goes to City and Tonali is going back to Italy as reported — what establish CMs can United target? Joao Gomes? Amadou Onana? Manuel Locatelli? Weston Makennie? Manu Kone? Enzo Fernandez? Morten Hjulmand? Ederson? Boubacar Kamara? 🔺Looking at ability — Amadou Onana does make a lot of sense. Great in the air. But how much would Villa want for him? He got the intangibles — but does he have enough “quality” to be a core piece of our midfield for the coming 5+ years? 🔺Regardless — I think the key to rebuilding the midfield will be in numbers. Liverpool signed 4 CMs (Szobo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Endo) in one summer when they rebuilt their midfield. Competitions for spots brings so many positives. Especially if we sign younger players. There can never be any hesitation from a manager to put a newly signed CM on the bench if he isn’t in perfect form. 🔺I think that it’s likely that we will move Ugarte on. I would like to see us sign 4 CMs if that happens, but we would probably settle for 3. If one of them can be someone more experienced — like Amadou Onana for example, I don’t mind if the other two are younger/less established CMs like Baleba, Stiller, Agoume or Matheus Fernandes. A trio of Onana, Baleba and Stiller would actually be really versatile, even if Onana-Mainoo are the go to options. Stiller’s passing game can really cut a high pressing team into pieces. Especially if Lisandro Martinez isn’t playing — Stiller’s passing game could be really valuable. Baleba and Onana together would be able to throw a lot of weight around if the is what is needed. And long term — I think Mainoo and Baleba could develop a very nice chemistry.
