@buddhistwisdom7 alright yeah I should have clarified, I think the Oppenheimer “opening look” which was like 5 minutes and posted online a week before release was unbelievable but I agree, pure footage from the Odyssey (Prologue mostly) clears anything we saw early from Oppenheimer marketing.

THE ODYSSEY [discourse #3]: I`ll be honest, while the imagery is fucking insane.....that aside, trailer 2 is the weakest trailer/sizzle reel we`ve received yet. I get they had to appeal to general audiences & this trailer needed a more family friendly, spoon feeding, commercial tone but, ugh. This trailer feels as if for a rated G film lmao. Not crazy about the editing, music, just the overall execution. The first trailer & the prologue are LEVELS above trailer 2 imo. You could tell they had a hard time trying to summarize the story without spoilers here. Honestly, the prologue should have just been trailer 2. It's just so jaw-dropping, I`m telling you. So moody, dark, atmospheric, thrilling, ancient feeling....what trailer 2 should have been. Again BEYOND EXCITED for the film but oof, not even close to being the best trailer/footage at this stage.

@buddhistwisdom7 yeah. the Oppenheimer trailers were unbelievable so it’s unfortunate these trailers are a step down but I think that’s more a credit to everything Oppenheimer was. I think everyone that has a complaint still, from this trailer specifically haven’t seen the prologue and it shows.

Compared to his other films, dunkirk's trailers were very weak in my opinion. Got me in the theater seat sure, but I thought the trailers were....okay. ...And then the film nuked my brain in 70MM IMAX. Odyssey is about to facemelt people in theaters It feels almost ominous in the prologue and the announcement teaser footage

@buddhistwisdom7 I also think the editing is at fault for this silly dialogue and “dad and daddy” discussion. it’s not cut well and it’s obvious that pattinsons character is teasing holland and holland responds back with the same parental term.

@brayzt_ Maybe the music isolated from the editing is good but, yeah the editing made me shift uncomfortably a few times in my seat I literally liked the announcement teaser better than this LMAO

@nolanisourking The cinematography is not an issue. A trailer can't do IMAX justice. The dialogue is shocking though.

the interstellar trailer is by far his weakest, but look how that turned out. idk why anyone thinks nolan would fumble the visuals of the odyssey.

my feeling about Nolan is that at a certain point, with a guy like that, making the kinds of movies he's making, for the scale of audience he's accrued, you've gotta take a serious look at what's actually going on there i too went through a period thinking he's for teenagers

I think it’s ridiculous that Tom Holland says “dad” in an American accent in “The Odyssey.” It’s so inauthentic. He should obviously say “πατήρ”, in heavily accented and unsubtitled Ancient Greek, so that all those people complaining can really understand it.
