While it may not have ended today the way we had hoped…this group has NOTHING to hang its head for. An 8-2 week & Top 3 finish @PGFnetwork National Championships is something no one can ever take away from them. We may not have always been the most talented team on the field…but no one could argue that someone had more heart, grit, & toughness than us. This is a special group that had a special summer and each of you should be proud of what you’ve done. No @NebraskaGold 16U team has ever finished better at PGF Nationals & you all once again reminded those outside our great state that Nebraska girls can play this game too. You’ve followed in the steps of some great teams before us and your setting the stage for future teams to come. Thank you for letting me come along for the ride. I 🖤💛 you all like I 🖤💛 my own! A perfect 7-0 record on the field (technically an ‘official’ record of 7-1 😉) leads to a T-3 finish @ERIStourney & A LOT to be proud of. Had to deal with all kinds of adversity this weekend & the girls showed grit, toughness, & determination thru it all. Every girl contributed at some point this weekend & that’s the only reason why we were able to fight thru all obstacles thrown our way. @LainiMichaelis w/5 hits today (including a HUGE 3-run 💣) to lead the way today at the plate. @autumndbryant @BNoerrlinger @Alisha_McMurtry all w/2 hits & @KincaidBrooklyn @BrookeOchsner1 @Kenadie_barton all with a hit. Our pitchers were tough as nails against 2 really good teams & kept us in both games today until the offense could find some rhythm. @Alisha_McMurtry 8IP, 6H, 2ER, 9K’s & a gutty performance from @avanance10 of 6IP, 3H, 1ER, & 3K’s. 👊💪👏👏 Special thanks to @autumndbryant & @JadynPokorny for running with us this weekend.
