A teacher friend asked me if I could recommend an effective reading program for children with Down Syndrome. I was not able to help…does any one have any suggestions? I want to at least point her in the right direction. Thx

If you are wondering how to teach reading to students with more significant needs and you didn’t catch the webinar live you can still access the recording! n2y.com/webinars/edxch…

@BenisonMrs @EmilyCol22 Absolutely no EdMark! Or any other whole language programs. Our kids deserve actual reading instruction as much as any other. Raising Robost Readers and Phonics for Pupils with Special Education Needs are two great programs.

@CodingWCulture Yes….but from my experience as a special Ed teacher not once was I ever acknowledged and I was “officially” a teacher, so I doubt most schools would bother to acknowledge a contractor. Sad.

@skrewpa1 @athorsen16 I think a lot of these are pretty normal things for people who don’t have dyslexia too 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

My family had a fun & funny #dyslexia conversation over dinner about the things that are hard w/dyslexia. My husband is the only one without it & he tried really hard not to be shocked at us. My daughters and I all have very high IQs but struggle with some VERY basic things. A🧵

@alicekeeler I had to start all the way back at the beginning of the scale when I moved. Went from 10 years to 0….one of the big reasons I left teaching.

omg, just looked up a teacher salary schedule. Where I would be at on the payscale is where the base pay is for where I currently am. 😳
