This is no time for a “throwaway line” these are people’s jobs and livelihoods - we need focus and action to get them through rising costs

BREAKING: Sir Keir Starmer warns that people may need to change their holiday plans and what they buy in supermarkets because of the impact of the Iran war It goes far further than the government's messaging so far. He appears to be implying that people may need to take staycations rather than going abroad He told @cathynewman on her new show on Sky News: 'I think we'll see how long the conflict goes on. I can see that, if there's more impact, people might change their habits… Where they go on holiday this year. What they're buying in the supermarket, that sort of thing' It sounds like a throwaway line but it goes way beyond what any other Cabinet minister has said so far

Last night I welcomed the Hillsborough Law carry-over motion, which means we can keep the fight for the Hillsborough Law alive in Parliament. But it shouldn’t have come to this. Two anniversaries, a full Parliamentary session but still no Hillsborough law - it’s not good enough. We knew there’d be resistance from those who oppose transparency & accountability - and that’s why political courage and leadership matters. The PM promised, now deliver: Adopt my amendments. No carve-outs. No one is above the law. Get it done PM - we have waited long enough. #HillsboroughLaw #JFT97

🚨The most honourable, heartfelt speech you’ll hear today! Labour MP Emma Lewell says she’ll DEFY Starmer and vote for him to be referred to the Privileges Committee. “I feel let down, disappointed and I am angry.” “Why can’t the Prime Minister refer himself to the Committee to clear his name?” She says the government is out of touch with the public sentiment and disagrees with MPs being whipped into voting against the motion. “Good, decent colleagues will be accused of being complicit in a cover-up.” I agree wholeheartedly with every word! Let’s hope other Labour MPs follow Emma’s suit. If he had nothing to hide, he should have referred himself to the committee!

Judge a man by his deeds. Boris Johnson allowed a free vote on whether he should be referred to the privileges committee Keir Starmer has told his MPs that they will be kicked out of the Labour Party if they vote for referral. What a scared, pathetic weasel of a man.

🚨 BREAKING: Labour MP Emma Lewell says she will defy Keir Starmer and vote for him to be referred to the Privileges Committee "The way today's vote has been handled by the Government smacks once again of being out of touch and disconnected from the public mood"

@SBarrettBar @ramonagusta It’s disgusting for Starmer to direct such a thing. Starmer is rotten to the core, As are any Labour MP’s that tow the party line on this country-critical vote…

With a 3 line whip - he's telling us he's guilty If Labour MPs back him - they're saying that they know and don't care.

This infuriates me. No true football fan should be laughing at Man City empty seats. Not many people can afford three trips to Wembley in seven weeks. Those who don’t understand that need to have a long hard look at themselves. #MCFC inews.co.uk/sport/football…

Chelsea telling their keeper to go down so the can have a tactical break during an FA Cup semi final when they are under pressure. The FA needs to do something about this blatant cheating 👍🏼

Tube strikes are hitting London, but it's not just about delayed commutes. It's staff unable to make shifts, empty tables, and small businesses taking the hit. In 2023/24 the strikes led to pubs and bars losing 38% of sales - that's nearly half their sales gone. Support your local hospitality businesses during the tube strikes this week.
