Chapter 1 of Isaiah: Summary: Current state of Judah and Jerusalem, the Lord Pleads Repentance, Predicts Destruction This is the only chapter that I don’t consider a prophecy for the last days, but in my view this is about ancient Jerusalem and what led them to crucify their Messiah. If we compare this to Jacob 5, this chapter is about the dying of the natural olive tree: Jacob 5: 4 And it came to pass that the master of the vineyard went forth, and he saw that his olive tree began to decay; and he said: I will prune it, and dig about it, and nourish it, that perhaps it may shoot forth young and tender branches, and it perish not. 5 And it came to pass that he prunedit, and digged about it, and nourished it according to his word. 6 And it came to pass that after many days it began to put forth somewhat a little, young and tender branches; but behold, the main top thereof began to perish. Why did it perish? What was going on? Current State of Judah and Jerusalem Isaiah 1: 2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. 4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. 6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. 7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. 11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. 13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Lord pleads repentance Isaiah 1: 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. The Lord predicts destruction Isaiah 1: 24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies: 25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin: 28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed. What happened? Jacob 5: 9 Take thou the branches of the wild olive tree, and graft them in, in the stead thereof; and these which I have plucked off I will cast into the fire and burn them, that they may not cumber the ground of my vineyard.

The Library of Godwin 2026: GODWIN’S ILLUSTRATED ISAIAH This next year I want to push myself even harder, so I’m going to illustrate every chapter of Isaiah. I’ll also be doing some Pearl of Great Price and other Bible pieces, but the main focus is a deep dive on the world of Isaiah. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure.

@Brettlds Yeah, I've had some awkward conversations with a few folks who said they received revelation for me. It's super weird.

@Brettlds The hierarchy of revelation according to our stewardship would still remain in place, it didn't change no matter the method of revelation.

Church members: How would you feel if you were to find out that lay members of the church had discovered spiritual gifts and were becoming seers? (With or without seer stones)

@dustinharding My and my buddy have been looking for one since the early 80s. If I've found it, it hasn't activated yet. I think those who might have theirs aren't going to tell anyone about it.

The last two and a half years have been a sweeping spiritual saga for me. The Lord has blessed me with experience, knowledge, wisdom and purpose. But, it also been a time of immense personal tribulation and stress. I think the two are likely connected.

Chicago is really bad for sure. You probably know those two better than me, I only have visited either, and both felt like I was taking my life into my hands lol! For me LA is scary not just because side of the drivers, but the windy freeways and inconsistent infrastructure were as much a hazard as the traffic itself. But LA doesn’t have as much inclement weather, so I can definitely see why you’d rank it worse. Idk if it’s still that way, but New Jersey was the highest rates of car insurance when I was there in late 90s early 00s because of how likely it is to get in an accident there, people were so incredibly aggressive. I also complain about Utah drivers when I’m there, but they are on the mildly annoying and inconvenient level, not the “you may have just caused my death” level of insanity I’ve experienced 😆

@Brettlds @HelamansArmyYT I lived in L.A. and I feel it like Chicago is worse but L.A.’s is more constant and more spread out. Heading west on 10 at 4pm is no joke

You haven’t lived until you’ve driven a an expedition max out of a downtown Chicago parking garage during Rush hour traffic. Good times. If you think Utah drivers are the worst I challenge you with Illinois drivers. 😬
