Prayers appreciated as we begin plans for CBI/MTW's first supply run for churches and Christians in Ishikawa. We will meet with the CBI team and CBS students tomorrow to pray and make plans to respond to an urgent request we received from churches in Ishikawa! More soon!

Thanks to all who are praying for Japan after the earthquake today. CBI is located about 3 hours south of Ishikawa, which is in the same Chubu region as Nagoya. We have multiple friends and CBS graduates in that area.

Murphy returned to the US in 1908 for health reasons and became a major advocate for Japanese-Americans on the West Coast against US internment policies during WWII. He also help them find jobs after they were finally released.

U.G. Murphy (1869-1967) was a Methodist missionary to Nagoya who played a significant role in the anti-brothel movement in Japan by helping a young woman test a law which said contracts made with people under the age of 20 were invalid.
