Also important to control for different methodologies. Are the AST using updated breakpoints? Need to validate the data to make sure you are adding the right apples together. Also challenging if you have different patient populations and acuity. #ASPchat

@PMMabx @ASP_Chat Its a thankless job that many do not learn about until too late in their career path. Increasing visibility for MLS and MLT programs is really important to stymie the imbalance of folks leaving the profession vs joining #ASPchat

@ASP_Chat First and foremost, making microbiology lab staff visible/active contributors at an institutional level. Too often (especially pre-COVID) microbiology staff (both lab directors & technicians) are rarely visible/vocal contributors outside of microbiology/pathology depts. #ASPchat

@ASP_Chat AMR is scary 😱, and means many things to different people We should look to other diseases that have had success in becoming household names and the support of patients to join in the defense of abx (CF, Breast cancer) thru ⬆️ uniform messaging & patient advocacy 🗣️ #ASPchat
