@brianayala Yep. They cannot afford to so blatantly miss a call to the point where they swap yellows. I agree with that. But diving isn’t diving anywhere. You’d be giving 10 cards a game.

Watched futbol for 30 years. Cant recall a yellow for a dive at midfield, a yellow for a foul overturned by VAR to yellow for a dive, or 2nd yellow given for diving in a goddamn WC QF. If there’s proof otherwise let me know. Why is the media defending the refs so hard here?

@luisakalefty diving is diving no matter where you are on the pitch. You can argue that this isn’t what VAR was made for, but the ref and linesman need to do a better job of calling that and not relying on replay to overturn a decision.

@brianayala Somewhat relatable, but missing that whole thing of being in the middle of the field with no attacking threat, the score and stakes, and obviously the second yellow. But fair enough, I see that it has been used to flip a yellow from the defender to the diver.

One prominent politician who hasn't chimed in yet on the reversal of @USMNT's Folarin Balogun's 1-game suspension: Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Before the suspension was reversed, tho, Mamdani said on his "Morning Pitch" stream yesterday that Balogun was "cruelly" given a red card.

Yesterday, my daughter, Kyra, passed away peacefully after a 9 month and 11 day fight against one of the cruelest diseases I’ve ever seen up close. She was diagnosed with Brain Cancer, specifically Glioblastoma. I have felt all of your concern and love for these months and wasn’t ready to be anymore specific than I was.
Kyra was a 28-year-old young woman who loved deeply and who is impossible to describe in 280 characters. While her life got stolen from her, she handled these months with courage, poise, and resolve. And all I want is for no family to feel what we feel today. For no young person to suffer the way she did.

This fund will be used solely to research treatments for Glioblastomas.
