Brian is 100% right. The "Democrats need a liberal Joe Rogan" discourse is stupid. Rogan is a famous comedian, reality TV host, and MMA commentator who built a huge audience unique to him. It wasn't a liberal or conservative project. We should go on Rogan not think we need to invent a new one. Democrats have a different media problem, which is that Republicans have invested tons of money and time into building a right-wing media ecosystem. It's not just Fox News, it's The Federalist, Breitbart, the Free Beacon, etc... Democrats need to invest time and money into growing progressive media. Trump is constantly doing interviews with right-wing outlets and hosts that liberals have never heard of, while progressive networks like @CrookedMedia are treated like an afterthought because campaigns think, we have those voters locked down, rather than being creative about how to amplify content from progressive outlets or use those platforms to turn people into volunteers and evangelists. Yes, I am saying this from a selfish perspective as a host of @PodSaveAmerica, but it's frustrating to have built an independent media company and show with a huge audience only to have it ignored.
Not really the same thing, but ok.
