Was great to get started recently in a new role as Athletic Development Lead with Irelands 3x3 Women’s u23 & Senior Basketball teams, hopefully the start of a journey to LA ‘28. This happened and I got to work with an International team, because of @ciaransully @francisosull @BallincolligB and all the talented players I got to work with in recent very successful years, bottom line that’s the reason. So thanks to everyone in Ballincollig.

Cleaning up excessive rotation in mid stance to push off, a pretty challenging drill is to include the water bag. Once this is tidy, mid stance will typically be clean from excessive rotation

@movementcoachkm @pacarroll_ Thanks @movementcoachkm and @pacarroll_ It’s easy really , it’s usually the S and Cs fault isn’t it 😁 - so really important to drive that point home to the manager . It’s a bit of a problem though when the manager is also an S & C 😁

Watching this (and I think a nice chunk of S&C is responsible for this talk too) it reminds me how lucky I am to work with 2 top Physio’s right here in Ballincollig. @brianothephysio (& Cliona) and @pacarroll_ So many Physio’s refuse or avoid to talk to me as either a football coach or S&C. And every year it leads to more time lost on the pitch for athletes we are all trying to support. The lads above give diagnosis, prognosis, “do this, don’t do that” and real world support from a clinical POV. It has help @ballincollig_super_l win a National Superleague and @NewcestownGAA reach a County Final this year alone. Who knows who else they have helped? I think the younger Physio’s have changed very positively, but I’m still having massive issues with archaic methods and arrogant clinicians not wanting to communicate. Physio’s, Consultants & Surgeons to varying degrees. So appreciation for the Physio’s we are lucky to have close by. Availability is your first ability!!
