In 2003, Sofia Coppola directed Lost in Translation. Sofia later admitted, Scarlett Johansson’s character was partially based on her, while Bill Murray’s character was inspired by her then-husband, Spike Jonze.
Ten years later, Jonze directed Her (2013), the story of a man who falls in love with an AI. Scarlett returned, but this time only as a voice, an echo of the past. The film became Jonze’s way of processing his loneliness and his loss.
Interestingly, both directors won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. And Scarlett Johansson played the thread that connected them.

Given that Father Ted is trending, yet again, here's a reminder that my little book about being a producer on the series will be published on February 20th. And yes, that's me on the front, running lines with Dermot on a freezing December day in the middle of the Burren....
Is it just me... but does this photo on an ad for a top-rated, reasonably-priced cremation service look like the participants are joyfully flinging dried leaves on a MASSIVE funeral pyre?

@sirsteen Met you both in the bar after an Omelette Broadcasting Company gig in Warwick in 1986-ish. Thoroughly nice chaps... I was a very nervous student but we discussed why you always used 'Johnson' (my surname) as a generic name when improvising sketches. So many moons ago....
