When @NYCCouncil partnered with @bridgeprojectny to commit municipal funds – for the first time in our city – towards a guaranteed income program, the hope was that eventually these supports would expand to include even more New Yorkers. I'm thrilled to see this proposal from @GovKathyHochul, which would be a significant step forward in ensuring all mothers have the support they need during and after pregnancy.

The Gov's proposal is directly informed by our work proving the efficacy of direct cash in the perinatal period to improve infant and maternal health and decrease poverty. And just last month she met with moms from our program to discuss issues of affordability in New York
