You still here?
Beautiful set of laws? Are you trying to convert me Ted? You sound like a Jewish version of a Jehovah’s Witness. lol
To answer your question: I actually haven’t read it, no. I’m an Orthodox Christian. We don’t recognize the Talmud as being inspired scripture, as it contradicts the Gospel, so I never felt the need to waste my time on it. I’m not very interested in human written, historical rabbinical legal literature.
I have however read the Coles notes version (ie the part is relevant to me as a Christian) where it describes the current state of the “suffering messiah” and rejects Christs divinity, which is essentially as much as I need to know about it.
I also know that the Torah / Old Covenant was fulfilled with Jesus Christ, and that the only real Oral Tradition was that which was passed down from Christ to the apostles, now preserved within the Church.
In which case, the so-called “Oral Law” from the Talmud is just a divergence from the true faith after they rejected their Messiah, so their interpretations are unnecessary for me (or anyone else) trying to understand GOD, and his relationship with us.
That said, I’m sure it’s a very lovely book aside from all of the anti-Christian references I just mentioned. I’ll have to read it in full one day after I finish reading every other single book that exists in the world.
