@brilliant

For 19 years I've been building works with tension and compression: the tension comes from me and the materials I use, the compression comes from my spine.

@Alex_Kack Here I just did one. It’s that easy to inspire “normal” people.

@Alex_Kack Coffee shop works too. Everyone I know just wants to keep hope alive. It’s like if we just organized around hope for a change and hope for progress “normal” people might be all in. Also giving $20 to a very local neighborhood charity, will do more in the long run.

I actually agree with the two central ideas here - we should focus on winning & we need to broaden our appeal to more people (that’s how you win) but this isn’t that, it’s repackaging losing ideas & ideals. This is magical thinking served as pragmatism, I’ll be at a dive bar.

@daveanthony His profile pic looks like he’s sucking himself off. Which is an apt metaphor I suppose?

I saw @JohnLeguizamo perform freak in the theater in the 90’s. From the ward Sutton poster to his iconic red shirt and black pants I can still remember it all. One person shows are really incredible. Ars longa vita brevis.

In 2012 I was part of a panel on art and science. This was the sculpture that greeted us at the heart center. I will never forget the horror.

@dieworkwear The charlie watt’s thing is so special cause he was a jazz musician and graphic designer first and foremost and his “second” gig was providing drums for The Rolling Stones. He was impeccable in all his style choices especially his drum sounds

Some others that come to mind: Johnny Cash's "man in black" look was crafted by Manuel Cuevas, whose son now teaches bespoke shirtmaking in Nashville. Edward Sexton cut the three suits on Abbey Road cover. Charlie Watts was a clotheshorse who used Huntsman, Chittleborough & Morgan, and GJ Cleverley. Today, it's rare to see a musician use a tailor. It's more often brand deals that are heavily announced in the press. Back in the day, you had to hunt around to find out who made someone's clothes. Leon Bridges is one of the rare exceptions. Some of his clothes are made for him by Kyosuke Kunimoto in Japan.

Interesting how common used to be for big musicians to use tailors. Hendrix went to Michael Braun, Elton John used Tommy Nutter, Miles Davis went to Andover Shop, Bryan Ferry used Richard Anderson. Nowadays, musicians are more likely outfitted by brands, often as part of deals
