I don’t think I can continue watching footy if they do actually hire Hird. Like it’s just too much. Too much

Jesus Hird is so narcissistic. I know he loves the dons but his history is an albatross.

I didn't stay awake for the Hird interview, I don't doubt his passion. Aimed at us middle aged people that remember what he was for our club. But our draft kids were barely- if at all- born in that Hird era. It takes more than passion to be a coach. I'd still like Kelly please.

In some ways its a pretty genius approach from James HIrd. The process of likely strong candidates just halved by Hird pitching for the role on national tv. Yes he calls for the coaching process to be thorough but it wont be with many candidates now pulling out

There’s literally nothing that would make me happier than James Hird returning to coach our next flag to stick it up his detractors but it’s a fantasy. Outside the romance of it, it’s a disaster waiting to happen & I sincerely hope it’s not our plan going forward. Hirdy got hammered pillar to post over his tenure & from a personal standpoint, I just want him to look after himself & don’t put himself through it again

Brad Scott tonight, very impressive IMO there is nothing he said that wasn't right. It shows just how hard the @essendonfc senior coaching job is. Also I respect that he still refers to Essendon as 'we'. Also Hirdy back as coach after 12 years out of coaching is utter nonsense.

Essendon are sooooooo Richmond circa 1983-2016 in just about everything they do. It’s uncanny.

Credit to Brad Scott on his interview on Agenda Setters. He was clearly disappointed with being sacked but was so gracious in how he spoke. You could clearly see he had a genuine care for the club, its players, and wanting to build the club back up, the right way, even if it put his job in jeopardy, & I think he deserves all respect for that. 👏👏 #GoDons
