Just an absurd response. There are right/wrong ways to decline a school, but doing so when you have 0 offers with “only interested in D1” is a prime example of “how not to handle recruiting as a player”. Respect all HC, you don’t know who they might know…

A top 25 D2 head coach I know well tells me last night he reached out to a HS Junior with zero offers to potentially start the recruiting process. Kid tells him on the first call, “I’m only interested in going D1 but thx anyway.” I’ll never understand that mentality EVER.

Good grades and test scores are more elite than any team.

When parents call amateur coaches asking for guarantees such as my son must play SS. Hit middle of order. No splitting time with anyone. What dream world are you trying to facilitate for your son? Do you think that prepares them for the next level? Or life?
