@australian My father had pancreatic cancer in the early 80's. He is still in complete remission decades later. No miracle drug, just a miracle I say, and excellent Drs and Nursing staff at Ipswich General Hospital.
Peter Moulding joined a clinical trial for the drug AMP945 not really knowing whether it would help him with deadly stage four pancreatic cancer. Now he is in complete remission – one of only two known cases in the world:
Algorithms make it far too easy for the content we see on the internet to be mostly negative.
My current response to this is to spend way more time on physical books.
But I'm curious; what do you personally do to curate a better experience?
@TomFrankly Finally loaded my data into your expense tracker. I LOVE IT! It's so helpful - I also added "% of income" column etc.
My quick question - If I wanted to have the option of Fortnightly and Quarterly expenses, is there any way to modify the "Monthly Cost" formula (seems to be limited to Monthly and Annual atm)?
Thanks again for such a great template.
You don't have to bench 300 pounds.
You don't have to make millions of dollars.
You don't need to get on a 30 Under 30 list.
No one else actually cares. No one will be thinking about it a year from now – or even the week after it happens.
But they will care about how you make them feel.
If you helped them when they needed it.
If you made them feel safe, took away their stress, made them laugh, or gave them guidance.
They'll remember those actions forever.
Pursue the money/career/fitness goals only if they really matter to you, or if they're a healthy motivator that pushes you to work a harder (without burning out or ignoring people who need you).
But don't trick yourself into believing you need to achieve them in order for others to like you or remember you well.
Put the majority of your attention into helping other people feel better now and/or become better in the future.
You'll probably end up achieving a bunch of those vanity goals by accident anyway.
@TomFrankly Thanks so much for your reply. Yes an existing database with a pic in each entry, but I wanted the page icon to match that pic (so that when I use the "relation" field, it shows that pic instead of the default page icon). Sounds like the API is needed. Cheers!
@tskellernsmith As in automatically set a page's icon to be that of a picture that is on that page?
You can't do that without the API, but if you're working with a database, you can make a Gallery/Board view and set the cover image to be the first picture in the page body.
@TomFrankly Hi Tom, as the Notion expert that I've followed for some time, is there any easy way to set page icons to picture in the page? It's very slow manually and thought you may know, or could point me to the answer?
BRISBANE! Thanks for the massive shows at the Convention Centre! Congratulations to Mick, tonight’s Hard Quiz Live winner. (He grows cattle out of the ground.) NEWCASTLE NEXT!
My finished shot from this morning's total lunar eclipse. This image was captured by using two telescopes, one to capture intricate detail on the lunar surface, and one to capture the rich tones cast by Earth's shadow across the disc. Go ahead, zoom in on it!
If you have a friend who’s a pharmacist, and they are ignoring you, just say this: “I was taking antibiotics for an infection, but I feel better now so I’m not going to finish them.” Trust me, they cannot help themselves. They will respond.
