I didn't understand Juneteenth as a kid, but it was celebrated. My summer came (led by a black woman) had a party every year. My grandma celebrated every single year. "Happy Juneteenth" was said every year.

You know what. . . I'm so sorry to Black people from Texas. It was one thing when other Black Americans were learning about and celebrating Juneteenth, having the shared history of our ancestors being enslaved on this land.

Do people actually go to family therapy? I’m not talking about couples or marriage counseling, but whole family units, like parents, adult children, siblings, all that. I was a child & family therapist for 3 years and we’d have family sessions often but I mean big grown adults.

This is Najee. He wanted to throw a block party. This was his first event he facilitated with Paterson Healing Collective. He had the whole block out sweeping and cleaning it up for the kids that came to enjoy our activities later. Last month he was killed by police.

About 10 pages into writing in my new journal I realized I started at the back of the journal AND I’ve been writing in it upside down How I managed that, I do not know. In my defense, here’s the front & the back. Now you tell me which way is up & which side is the front cover 😭
