the complex ecology of the Dune novels + their psychedelic sexual sociology feels so unprecedented and genius and then you remember Frank Herbert is basically a twin peaks pacific northwesterner and it all makes sense

Japanophiles who hate Chyna are a confused bunch, as nearly everything “Japanese” have foreign origins, 90+% of which was Chinese. Zen Buddhism? 禪 (chan) Buddhism in China which combines elements of Daoism into Buddhism (and Buddhism was originally exported from India). Taiko? Chinese drums. Remember the 2008 Beijing Olympics opening ceremony? Kimono? Originated from Chinese hanfu brought over during the Tang Dynasty. Rice cultivation? Technique brought by migrants from Korea and China.

English is still the most beautiful, versatile, logical, poetic and wonderful language in the whole world. I speak six languages. Many writers from many other languages say this about English. Because it has been perfected over millennia of discourse, poetry and debate.

The philosophy diagnostic hit 1M+ views. The most surprising result is that Liberal came in dead last at 2%. Existentialist leads narrowly. That means most people, when pushed, orient around radical freedom and authenticity, not utility, rights, or progress.

Designers who don’t know code and started using Figma MCP and any code editor / IDE, where on earth do you start? Like do I go back to the very basics of HTML and CSS first before even trying vibe coding? 🙃🥺

@nosilverv @Orthon_Spaceman including verbal examples of misogyny/neomisogyny would help with its readability/shareability. if someone just stumbled upon it out of context, they'd probably want to check each archetype against what they've heard out and about in their own life

@Orthon_Spaceman I took the liberty to transform this (imo very good) thread into a table, as a mockup. I suggest it'd be worth to fix it (in content and style) so that it spreads easily. I think the concept of "neomisogyny" as contrasted to classical misogyny is very much worth spreading

I low key believe that online neomisogyny is less a resuscitation of old misogyny in reaction to feminism, but rather something which grew out of men taking a lot of things which feminism introduced seriously which classical misogyny simply would have dismissed.

The Chinese character, which represents medicine, is actually derived from the character of music Illustrating the wisdom of our ancestors who recognized the importance of chiropractic healing techniques. They had a deep knowledge of musical compositions and the effects that different sound frequencies can have on the human body, both beneficial and harmful👌
