@jonneygee @woodyVSworld This is really idiotic logic. Illinois has 2 losses to the two top 2 teams. So Illinois should be ranked way higher according to your standards. If you don’t agree stop using stupid logic.

@DianneCallaha16 The Social Security Administration head that Trump installed from Wall Street said in an interview he had to Google what Social Security does. I got the email too but hard not to be skeptical when he implemented unqualified MAGA heads in all the government agencies.

So, I received an e-mail from the Social Security Administration (SSA) that reads that there is no tax on Social Security because of the Big Beautiful Bill, but that’s a lie. Has anyone else received this? It’s not only a lie, but it’s extremely unprofessional.

@wischlist We could potentially play SEC teams for 3 straight games if we keep winning and so do they. Good thing we are very familiar with many of their styles from our non-conference.

Pretty tough draw for the Illini. But Milwaukee is a very sweet location.

@ImmaculateView Honestly if Toledo could do the MW football thing with a move for their other sports to a pretty good regional fit in the A-10 that might make some sense. If their best option for other sports is the Horizon League like NIU, I’m not sure Toledo fans would be on board with that.

With Bowling Green picking up Eddie George as their new HC, its likely to garner some attention. So would we say that its now a bad time for Toledo to run out on that rivalry match up? A strong Toledo squad vs an Eddie George led BG squad. Might effect their decision.

@flugempire Apparently with these comments of the people responding history has been forgotten. We try to help countries with resources to stop dictators from advancing their borders. This keeps our country safe. Hiding our heads in the sand will allow dictators to bring a future war to us.

@TheWildUte So the conference that kicked out football members to focus on basketball wants to merge with a conference that has long seemed to have put basketball first? This is popcorn worthy stuff!

Suggestions of a merger between the ACC and Big East in basketball. 🤯 Seems like ACC’s leadership needs to decide it’s identity: - basketball focused ($ doom) - football focused ($ life)
Front Office Sports@FOS

Both Mike Krzyzewski and Rick Pitino have suggested a merger between the Big East and ACC. Big East commissioner Val Ackerman even said she is open to the idea—but it could require unraveling media rights contracts involving ESPN, Fox, NBC, and TNT. Story from @achristovichh ⬇️

@TheWildUte @ImmaculateView This is a big reason why all teams in the Big 12 and ACC and G5 of course would jump at the chance to get in one of the P2 conferences. The initial money would be great but this access to remain at the top level if and when a breakaway happens is key.

@ImmaculateView It’s still a silly game. The Big Ten and SEC can get its way regardless by leveraging a potential breakaway. It root issue is a lack of care for the entire sport and the FBS. Major college sports is more than 34 member schools. That’s lost of these guys.

Greg Sankey says to Pettiti— Hey Tony, brilliant 💡! Let’s make it so every 1st and 2nd round CFP home game is played on an SEC or Big Ten field. That way the odds of losing to a Big 12 opponent are minimized, and our member schools can sell even more tickets❗️
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti say they are both in favor of changing the seeding in the 2025 playoff, as they have suggested in the past. They want seeding base directly on the rankings and no automatic byes for conference champions.

I avoid politics on X. I’m neither Democrat nor Republican for I find agreement and disagreement with both parties. I’m culturally center-right on most issues. But I need to say the following. Trump’s inability to say Putin started the War in Ukraine is obscene. Lunacy.

@ImmaculateView No not CBS only on Sundays pretty much until March. They do have CBS Sports during the week as do ESPN networks w/ACCN & streams, FOX networks w/BTN & streams, & other streaming services like Peacock. There are options for more content but it would require getting creative.

There is one Conference Commissioner that stands out from all the rest as far as how often they publicly attempt to control the rhetoric. Sometimes it is directly themselves and sometimes it is via their media connections that they regularly give interviews and talking points to
Immaculate@ImmaculateView

Alright, so one of the things I try to do is sniff out and separate the BS from the real. There is one conference that seems to have been protesting too much in regards to realignment yet I think their actions are telling us something different.

@ImmaculateView Big 12 just started Sundays this year I think which is interesting since they have BYU now who won’t play that day. ACC, BIG & Big East have been doing it for years. CBS likes airing after NFL is over. The SEC outside of Kentucky never fought much for cbb exposure before this.

@ImmaculateView The SEC doesn’t even play basketball regularly on Sundays at this point. Are we sure they are interested in expanding specifically for this sport when that would surely be the end result? As people mentioned they won’t be too keen on playing late night local games.

Don't believe me? That's fine but that means having to take them from conferences that have deals with the same Network. The SEC's competitors in this have been stronger than them in the past in basketball. Clearly the conference has a whole has put their members up to challenging this. In very short order, the conference has risen in basketball. This is where their investment has gone and the results are showing quickly and sharply. Those Time Slots may not be as valuable individually but there are an awful lot of them.

@ImmaculateView I think we all understand what the PAC was trying to do by negotiating before adds but I wonder if it isn’t backfiring on them. Maybe the media companies will only negotiate with what they have instead of with hypothetical adds.

So we get some news. It’s nothing major as “productive” kind of sounds like there really isn’t an agreement in sight but perhaps they know what would be needed to achieve one. Having only seven teams has to be hurting them in negotiations
Amanda Christovich@achristovichh

NEWS: ESPN, Fox, and CBS are all still open to participating in a media rights package with the expanded Pac-12, sources tell FOS. It's unclear how interested each network is in the Pac-12, but one source described negotiations as "productive." frontofficesports.com/espn-fox-cbs-a…
