Revisiting this today— still think Ty is right. Understand Eyssimont playing and even called for him over Reichel, but not having Hagens in this lineup is a tough look for a team that has preached the importance of youth and player development in a “transition year.” #NHLBruins

Think the 'found money' and 'this is all gravy! just good experience!' narrative that's been bandied about takes a reaaaaaaaal big, actually devastating, hit if you go down swinging with Mikey Eyssimont or Alex Steeves instead of your 7th overall pick. But, we'll see.

Marat Khusnutdinov has been the best player on the ice for Boston in game five IMO. His speed and hands in transition really stand out amongst most of his peers as he’s able to carry pucks deep into the zone at 5-on-5. He’s led some pretty solid rushes. #NHLBruins

If your plan was to just bury James Hagens at the first sign of adversity, I have no Godly idea why you brought him up from Providence. This management group continues to bury it's young talent in favor of veterans that haven't played well enough to separate themselves.

@BruinsCapSpace Finally someone I can agree with! He’s still our best prospect by a mile. Not playing him in a do-or-die playoff game/burning year one of his ELC is not gunna cripple the team long term. It’s not going to negatively affect his development. The discourse is legit hilarious.

I’m going to agree with Sturm not going with Hagens. He’s 19 and looked unsure last game. Its not going to make or break this playoff series. Hagens will be OK, his time will come.

As fun (infuriating) as the Hagens discourse is, the fate of the Bruins' season isn't going to come down to the third line.
This Bruins team needs some of its big guns (beyond Swayman) to show up tonight.

@briandefelice_ Hagens will be fine. I wanna see him play too, but I’m not gunna go nuts over it. He’ll get a full season next year and be a regular like Khusy and Minten. Thinking this negatively effects his development is a drastic way is an overreaction.

If BOS was going to be this fragile with Hagens then they should’ve just left him in Providence for their run. Calling him up was only worth it if they play him. If they find a way to win tonight, think he draws back in GM6, or 7? Nope. Top prospect playing no games at all. Sick

Bruins prospect development is something else….Burn a year of Hagens ELC to sit him for Eyssimont/Steeves when he could be getting reps in Providence+ ahl playoffs…just makes no sense.

Like dropping Lindholm to 3rd line. Zacha/Khusy play with much more pace for for Pasta. Just dont know how Hagens doesnt draw into this lineup.

@RyanJBosworth 100%. Only him and McAvoy I wouldn’t consider moving. Lohrei might be in that group, unless he’s traded for a clear upgrade. H Lindholm we’ve had enough of a playoff sample size. Both Lindholms I’d be very okay moving. Likely won’t happen next season, maybe the season after.

You may not like this, but Zadorov's NTC becomes a 16-team NTC on July 1st, and for him, I think it's time to move on. Bruins are saturated at LD position, and his penalties really hurts the team. A defenseman like him is needed on ice not in the box. #NHLbruins

Boston needs to shed lbs and add mph this offseason. Their bigger, tougher players (specifically on the backend) have largely been skated around in all three losses to Buffalo especially today. The answer is faster, more talented skaters— not just bigger and tougher. #NHLBruins
