With all due respect that’s not the issue. Scotland should always be looking as far and wide as possible globally for Scottish connected players. It’s why the team has been able to compete in last decade. Open minded recruitment as grass roots will never be fruitful in Scotland. The perennial problem is that we need world class coaches and management. This has always been lacking.

I’m sad about @Scotlandteam 4 of the starting backs and 3 of the forwards didn’t even learn their rugby in Scotland. I fear for our #Rugby roots. I actually fear for the game of rugby. Kick to compete, pods of three, huge huge men, structure structure. Wales struggling. Sad.
