“Weinstein says that Elon Musk is a very hard‑to‑read, mysterious person.” He gives an interview every other week, tweets all day long, details his goals and plans in excruciating detail, and has been pounding the same drum for two decades. The least mysterious person ever.
Vicky Verma@Unexplained2020

Physicist Eric Weinstein said, “Something about Elon is very, very strange.” He thinks Elon’s real space company isn’t SpaceX. Weinstein says that Elon Musk is a very hard‑to‑read, mysterious person, and people do not fully notice how strange his choices are. He said Elon often uses the motto “Ad Astra” (to the stars), but SpaceX uses normal chemical rockets, which can at best get us to places like the Moon and Mars, not truly “to the stars.” Weinstein finds it odd that someone who talks so much about reaching the stars is not visibly investing in new, deeper physics that might be needed for real interstellar travel, especially since Musk studied physics at university and once planned to go to graduate school in physics. For him, it is strange that Musk seems focused on space but does not show much interest in working directly with physicists. Weinstein then says that Elon’s “real” space company might not actually be SpaceX, but xAI, the company behind the AI system Grok. He points to Grok’s logo, which looks like a black‑hole‑type shape, and its slogan “to understand the universe,” and reads this as a clue that Grok is actually meant to do deep science, including physics. In his view, Elon has largely given up on today’s human scientific institutions because he thinks science as practiced in universities and big organizations has become corrupt, political, and full of groupthink. @brucexduncan @BradleyKellard Nicely done, but a a huge simplification. Bezos created $2.1T in wealth but he also destroyed wealth for thousands of small businesses, while also providing free time to millions. Jenson's chips enabled other companies to create many more trillions in wealth & knowledge.

Jeff Bezos: "I've created $2.1 trillion of wealth for other people." "Somebody needs to make a list where they rank people by how much wealth they've created for other people." While talking about his net worth, he floated an idea that flips the whole concept of a "rich list" on its head. He did the math live, right there on stage. "Amazon's market cap is 2.3 trillion today. I own about 200 billion of it." "So if you take 2.3 trillion and subtract out the piece I kept for myself, then I've created something like $2.1 trillion of wealth for other people." That's not a typo. Trillion, with a T and it's not even his money. "That should put me pretty high on some kind of list." He didn't stop at himself, either. He immediately named who else deserves a spot at the top. "People like Jensen, Nvidia, he's going to be very high on that list." "That would be a pretty cool list. Somebody should do that list."

There's this newish thing called Apex. They host NFL combines for normal people. 40 yard dash, 225 bench, 1 mile run, vert, broad jump, overhead throw. I just started training for it. I don't know if it'll be as popular as Hyrox as sprinting for 30+ year old guys is rarer than cardio-realted fitness stuff...but I think this has a chance to become big.

@brucexduncan @OnyxOdds “Barely” There’s 48 minutes in an NBA Game. There are 12 minutes per qtr. As in he played 3 full fucking quarters and an extra 3 fucking minutes out of 5 games. “Barely played”? get the fuck out of my face

@Finding1_1Tingz @OnyxOdds Yes, Jokic leads the league. What’s your point? How many minutes does Mitch play? Hart is averaging that while being 6’4”, that’s the point. I don’t even know what you’re arguing? Are you trying to say the Knicks weren’t one of if not the best rebounding teams in the league?

@brucexduncan @OnyxOdds Jokic leads the league. Champ cant box out for shit. 5 rebs is NOT great, get tf over it Kat is 11.9 rpg 2nd (cant rebound on the bench like he was for the most part in game 4 & 5) Mitch is 8.8 rpg 13th Hart is 7.4 rpg 27th Who tf is this 4th person you pulled out of your ass?

@Finding1_1Tingz @OnyxOdds I said Champagnie turned into a great rebounder, he hasn’t always been. What? lol Mitch Robinson is possibly the best rebounder in the league, is he not? Josh Hart is one of the best positional rebounders in the league. KAT was second in rebounds.

@brucexduncan @OnyxOdds 6 rebounds career wise is not “great”. Knicks DID NOT HAVE the best rebounders in the league. They just looked like rebounding Gods bc the Spurs were so trash on the boards, which is my point. The tallest player in the league CANNOT BE #4 in rebounding. Now please move along

@Finding1_1Tingz @OnyxOdds Champagnie turned into a great rebounder last year too. And Castle/Harper are good for their size, but it’s difficult against a team like the Knicks who have 3-4 of the best rebounders in the league.

Wise words from Ben Wilson: "I actually don't think live like you are dying is very helpful advice. Live like you are living. Live like you got your whole life in front of you, and just be your strongest, healthiest, and best self. Everything that I have told you is just more and more confirmed to me. Try to take over the world. Try to accomplish everything that you can in this life. Use your strength to its greatest ends that you can. Everyone dies. Rich people, wealthy people. Julius Caesar's dead. Alexander the Great is dead. Achilles is dead. My grandpa is dead. It's not that romantic. I'm not that special because I'm dying. It's actually one of the most common, unremarkable facts of life, I have a family that I love very much. I have four wonderful children and a tremendously supportive wife. I have found my vocation in life, my calling. I have loved being a podcaster and speaking to all of you and sharing what I have learned. And so I would just say, don't let death catch you unprepared." —- Ben caught a raw deal: He has stage 4 cancer and he has 4 small children at home. Watch the video he made and please help in any way you can — including helping spread the word:
