@Deseret Lake Bonneville has been evaporating for 10,000 years. It's going to disappear eventually and that's okay
English

"An environmental nuclear bomb."
That’s how scientists are describing the crisis at the Great Salt Lake. With two-thirds of its water already gone, we are just years away from a total food web collapse and a wave of toxic dust pollution.
Jane Clayson Johnson sits down with two people leading the charge to @growtheflow and save the lake in this episode of the “Deseret Voices” podcast.
Find it on Apple, Spotify and YouTube.

#Nvidia's AI Bubble will POP from these 4 Headwinds, and likely sooner than most people think...👀
I've been speaking to experts about this for months, here's how it will happen: youtu.be/w8jiiVEW8r4

@LargeInStature_ @EvidenceOfFaith It’s an insta-block for me if some posts temple footage
English

Brother, regardless of what you believe, this stuff is super special and sacred to us. It's not to be shared outside the temple. I know it means nothing to you, but to us, sharing this on the internet is sacrilege of the highest order.
And unlike a REAL cult or extremist religion (which you constantly accuse us of being), we're not going do shit about it. But just know this is egregious. It makes me sad. God will not be mocked.

“And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”
The Book of Mormon, Helaman 5:12

It’s not a religion. It’s certainly not Christian. LDS is referred to by academics as a “new religious movement,” polite sociological jargon for cult. It’s a more successful sibling to Scientology, Christian Science, Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Moonies. It’s not real.

“Same sex attraction is not sinful. Acting on it is.”
Sure, but let’s be clear about something…
Identifying as “gay”… making homosexuality your actual identity instead of simply a feeling you’ve experienced…
That is “acting on it.”
It is a sin to identify as LGBTQIA+.
Because you are actively identifying with something that is sinful and rooted in lies.
Lies about the most fundamental realities of human biology and sociology.
Lies about the Plan of Salvation itself.
Latter-day Saints should welcome people who have sinned in this way, as we welcome all sinners.
But the invitation is to repentance.

I like a lot of the people who are mad about this but I cannot figure out what they're mad about
There seems to be some idea that rejecting this construction project will "stop" AI, or the military industrial complex, or the surveillance state, or something

Guys, Box Elder County Utah is HUGE and is one of the least populated places in the Lower 48. It's bigger than the state of Connecticut and has a population of 50k-ish people, most of whom live in Brigham City. Nobody is going to notice the data center is even there.

@mtngirl143 @bryanthinton01 @txsalth2o I'm getting the feeling that people like Bryant arent even real people at best maybe they're some guy in a 3rd world country getting paid to post. Its just these responses feel so disconnected, lifeless and flat.
English

@TheRickPatton @TurdFergys @txsalth2o @grok Hey @grok what's the water usage of a closed-loop cooled data center. Use real data from such a system that is already operational
English

@TurdFergys @bryanthinton01 @txsalth2o Hey @grok what's the water usage of a closed-loop cooled data center. Use real data from such a system that is already operational
English

@mtngirl143 @bryanthinton01 @txsalth2o You're using, as a reference, a data center with an open-loop cooling design.
English

@bryanthinton01 @ThorJ778 @txsalth2o Are the closed loop systems quieter than older data centers? Ive seen many complaints from neighbors about intense noise problems from all of the AC fans.
English

@UteTex @omgitsreg @txsalth2o @grok Yes. Dude you just need to stop and admit defeat. It’s okay to be wrong sometimes. @grok do modern natural gas power plants have closed loop water usage?
English

@bryanthinton01 @omgitsreg @txsalth2o @grok lol.. what about the increased water usage for the natural gas power plant that (check it) DOUBLES the power needs relative to current Utah consumption?
Is that closed loop as well? (Yeah, that was sarcasm)
English

@mtngirl143 @txsalth2o You are the one fear mongering not me
English

@bryanthinton01 @txsalth2o Even if it’s a closed-loop system you still have to provide the initial water and that amounts to hundreds of millions of gallons Utah doesn’t have. 🙄🤦♀️
Stop with your lies about how much water they don’t use. Just look at the stats on the NSA data center in Lehi, Utah.
