Exactly which spells to pick is almost entirely dependent on what kind of character you want to play. 4/x

I was a teacher during peak Twilight years. Say what you will about the books, but I was just happy that some of the girls in my classes were reading outside what was required for school and hoped those habits continued beyond graduation.

Homesteaders shouldn't depend on power tools. If you want to be truly self-sufficient and/or prepared for an emergency, you cannot rely on machines that constantly need fuel, oil, and replacement parts you can't produce yourself. "When I need them, I'll learn how to use them." Don't count on it. Becoming quick and efficient with a hand tool takes a good bit of practice, as well as specialized physical development. You don't want to go through the hand tool learning curve while you're cold and hungry - do it now, and develop a strong and healthy physique in the process. The only way to truly prepare for a collapse is to live as if it already happened.

@SavageBruski Number of walls/floors between the WiFi router & the room where you spend most of your time. I've seen SO MANY homes where the Internet line comes into a basement utility room on the opposite side of the house as the 2nd floor bedrooms.
Also, availability of broadband Internet.
