Calling everyone you disagree with “far right” has destroyed the meaning of the term. I’m sick of seeing serious labels abused to smear ordinary people with legitimate concerns. In 2015, before Brexit, over 50% of the country was concerned about immigration. Does that make half the country “far right”? Throwing these labels around is reckless, dishonest, and damaging to public debate.

You are absolutely right, Baroness. The @reformparty_uk machine is running a coordinated character assault on @KemiBadenoch because they see the threat clearly. Their attack line is uniform - scrub every interview, clip anything that can be spun, push the narrative that the Conservatives haven't changed and cannot be trusted. Reform activists and influencers have gone from patronising platitudes ("Kemi's great, but her party will betray her") to manufacturing hypocrisies that don't exist. Take the @TRobinsonNewEra march interviews - twisting her defence of government prerogative on border security into an attack on free speech, when she's on record defending protest rights and stating she hasn't seen hate at the UTK marches. However, Reform are not stupid. They know how to campaign. And they are visibly rattled. The dynamic they fear is straightforward. Voters who felt betrayed by the pre-2024 Conservative Party are warming to Kemi. A rejuvenated Conservative Party winning back trust removes Reform's entire purpose - they are the protest shadow, and shadows disappear when the light returns. We should expect the operation to escalate. Every interview will be scrubbed. Every statement spun out of context. And watch for the second vector - weaponising Conservative wets with platforms, the Gavin Barwell set, so their noises about Kemi can be held up as proof the party hasn't changed. This will become the number one priority for Reform activists and influencers. I’m sure Kemi knows it. The rest of the party needs to be equally ready.

Ps… they’re now starting to attack her personally .. because she is the only Party Leader @Conservatives actually holding this appalling @UKLabour government to account ! and it is we .. who have forced the UTurns they’ve had to make .. The public can see that and they’ll make their own decisions 🤷‍♀️

Starmer is recognised as an 'excellent PM' even among non-Labour supporters.
greeneralia.net; Laura Sykes@greeneraliauk

@charlotteukcity @Keir_Starmer I'm a Lib Dem. But Keir Starmer is an excellent Prime Minister, who has done a lot to restore the reputation of the UK and is making daily small improvements to life in the UK. He is not a showman, and is all the better for it. Viva Keir!

You dont know unless you try. I am open to other ideas, unfortunately I think the reverse is true in your case. I have laid out my thinking with reasons of why I think that. You haven't, which i find really disappointing. You appear to be like a rock stuck in a hole that you cant move from. But seem happy to stay there because it's comfy. I wish you a good weekend in your comfy zone. 😊

Ah, your dismissing it again without justifying your dismissal. That ai probably has more information to hand than you do. It searches through posted papers on the internet to locate the answers. It doesn't have a brain to work it out. So It appears that even though you have Dr in your profile, you just dismiss any arguments put forward without actually thinking about the argument being made. You say Great Britain has never been sovereign, and I disagree with you. So does history and so does the ai system that searches through the Internet to locate the information thats there. It cross references that information to check its accuracy before giving an answer. The only way I can think of your argument about sovereignty being valid in your eyes is that you have a different definition of sovereignty than I do. What do you think sovereignty is?

@IanMWelsh @Jenny_1884 Like I said, sovereignty is priceless. So the cost, in my eyes is worth it. Your use of the phrase brutal force let's me know your thoughts on our past. We did have sovereignty during those times. You are being wilfully ignorant of this.

@bryreyn @Jenny_1884 It's an illusion with/without the US and plenty of academic and industry expert analyses demonstrate our trading losses post-Brexit. You should read them instead of expostulating a policy of wish-fulfilment. We didn't have sovereignty in the British Empire. We had brutal force!

You mentioned the illusion before I mentioned the US, but nice try. You also have no idea what deals we could do with the US. You appear to be just making statements without any facts to back them up. We have had sovereignty in the past and we can have it again. It just takes someone with the will and energy to get in power to pave the way. Don't you think we had sovereignty when we had the biggest empire in the world?

@bryreyn @Jenny_1884 America is NOT and will not offer us so much more and that's the illusion. Sovereignty may be priceless to you but, in reality, you can't have it now and have never had it in the past

You cant just call something you disagree with an illusion. Thats just trying to dismiss the argument without providing any evidence to the argument laid out. Most people who voted for brexit voted that way because of sovereignty rather than economic reasons. Thats of the people i know and have spoken about it. Sovereignty in my view is priceless. But for example the us has outgrown the eu by approximately 3x. Why on earth would kier starmer want to move closer to the eu when America can offer so much more. I also think you are overstating yhe cost by calling it an economic catastrophe. We have outgrown both Germany and Italy in the economic sense.

@bryreyn @Jenny_1884 That's an illusion and the period after Brexit has demonstrably shown that those so-called 'bespoke' deals are collectively worth far less to us than what we already had in Europe. An economic catastrophe.

Not dominated? But those countries that do cede a bit of their sovereignty, only cede it to that country they're trading with, and its that countries responsibility. Not 27 different countries. No deal will suit that many seperate countries. Much better deals, bespoke to the uk's needs is a much better option. Trying to find a deal that suits 27 countries would be impossible without being enforced on those countries that the deal may be detrimental to...

Reportedly police claim they’re using it to find people who committed offences at a September event. The press and public will rightly question why police have waited well over six months to find those people

Shocking decision for police to use live facial recognition cameras specifically for Tommy Robinson’s “Unite the Kingdom” protest. It’s policing you’d expect in China. Not Britain And it clearly plays into perceptions of two tier policing. BUT shouldn’t be used at ANY protest🧵
GB News@GBNEWS

‘The optics for this don’t look good at all for the Met!’ GB News’ Home and Security Editor Mark White reports on the Met confirming that facial recognition technology is to be used at the upcoming Unite the Kingdom Rally.

I disagree with you. Maybe it's time to bring back sovereignty. It did our country the world of good when we had it (historically speaking). According to the brexit referendum most people agree with me. Certainly if they wanted the ability to make our own laws and not be dominated by laws passed by a trading partnership that has got too big for its boots.

@bryreyn @Jenny_1884 This is false rhetoric. There is no 'destruction', Britain isn't 'broken' ( although badly damaged economically by Brexit), there is no 'sovereignty' in our time only mutual interdependence ...

I agree about the way the tories harmed the country but it started before that with the Blair gment. As far as brexit goes I believe sovereignty is priceless. The country is still being destroyed under this government but the pace of "destruction" has increased over the last few years. Starmer keeps saying he won't walk away, despite most people wanting him to. The man, and party are blind to what the people of this country want.
