Wishing my friends and their families a happy, safe and prosperous 2026

As the year comes to a close, I want to thank those who’ve placed their trust in us. In an increasingly unsettled world, Christmas is a reminder of the importance of peace, perspective, and looking after one another. Wishing you and your families a happy and safe Christmas.

On this shortest day, I’m mindful of 21 Dec 1988, when PA103 was destroyed by a bomb over Lockerbie. 270 people never came home &11 Lockerbie residents were killed. We remember them and why vigilance and robust SeMS matter. Their legacy drives our continued focus in this work.

Regarding today’s assaults and subsequent arrests at Bronzefield Prison: “I have been kept updated on the situation today at HMP Bronzefield and I utterly condemn the actions of those involved in the disorder and criminality that has taken place. “I am a firm believer in the right to peaceful and lawful protest but I am afraid some of the scenes we have witnessed today have gone far beyond what is acceptable. “A prison officer and police officer have been assaulted, prison transport has been disrupted and the road was blocked resulting in medical assistance for one of those injured being delayed. “This sort of behaviour cannot be tolerated and I fully support the action our policing teams have taken today to tackle this criminality in very challenging circumstances. “Our police resources are precious and our officers’ time is much better spent policing in our communities rather than having to deal with situations like this.”

This performative, embarrassing act by a woman who is neglecting her own constituents in favour of a stupid, irresponsible and attention-grabbing stunt at a prison in Surrey shows the lows she will go to in order to keep herself as the story.
