The content I share is supported by multiple other sources Regarding the reported 15-foot water drop it’s just that, a report. Similarly, the earlier observation of water retreating over 100 feet at Hanalei Bay is a documented sign of tsunami activity. These are situational updates, not definitive conclusions. Don’t get me wrong we’re all human and capable of making mistakes. I’m sure you’ve made a few yourself.

This is almost certainly incorrect. Data does not support anything remotely close to this. (A 15 foot drop in water level would correspond to a 30 foot trough-to-crest wave). Current indications are of something maybe a third the size.

The solution to being prepared for weather disasters is having an operational National Weather Service radio that alerts people with flashing lights and loud alarms. Having 3 hours of warning before a flash flood a lot of people in the #TexasFlood2025 could have gotten out of the way. These radios don’t depend on cell service and work in almost all areas in the country. I’m setting up my radio now because I have been complacent depending on my phone for weather warnings. Don’t make this Texas flood disaster political; the main problem was communication!

Nobody thinks it will happen to them because it hasn’t during their lifetime. But all it takes is the right mix of meteorological conditions to make it happen. That’s why it’s always important to have a plan.

This video was from a 2018 flood when I lived and worked on the Guadalupe. All of these camps were built to manage the “normal” floods. 26 feet in 45 minutes is by no means “normal.”

Both warnings posted by NWS were clear cut and bold about this being life threatening, and location, even mentioning "campers" and "Kerrville". The flash flood emergency issued at 5:34 am on July 4th. "AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES A LARGE AND DEADLY WAVE IS MOVING DOWN THE GUADALUPE RIVER". The first warning was issued at 1:14 am. There were already 5 warnings/advisories issued by NWS by 2 am. Kerr County and the surrounding regions were put under a flood watch on July 3rd. I don't feel natural disaster needs blamed on anyone, but as someone who watched these warnings being issued. The NWS couldn't have done better in this one.
