With fungicides being applied in Western Illinois, we wanted to ground truth some of the talk around disease. We stepped in over 230 fields in the last 7 days to get a better idea what’s really out there. @PioneerSeeds

My travels across Hancock and McDonough county this morning were fruitful for finding Tar Spot. I was able to find it in April planted corn. Be sure to wet your finger and try to rub off the lesion, there are plenty of lookalikes out there. Time to scout! @PioneerSeeds

Guy at Home Depot south Lincoln goes wild with skid steer destroying vehicles, he gave up when guns were drawn. Great job @Lincoln_Police

If you're interested in learning more about grain merchandising and basis "trading", I made a few videos on the topic a while back. They aren't public but if reply to this tweet (with anything), I'll DM you the links to the videos! (You must be following me for me to DM you)

It's amazing to watch corn bounce back after a wind event like the Derecho we experienced last week. By day 3 most of the areas corn was back vertical with a gooseneck. It remains to be seen what the yield ramifications will be, but we will know soon. @PioneerSeeds #derecho

@Mikeschardt1 @MarketToMarket @PioneerSeeds We had some stuff within days of pollinating and we have some in the area that is 10-14 days out. It’s going to put some serious stress on the crop that is pollinating now.

@jeffpeterson01 @PioneerSeeds There is a bit of greensnap out there. That is more hybrid specific when it comes to severity. Most fields are rootlodged but there is still a lot of acres to scout.

Dry June’s don’t only put stress on the crop, it also allows for a good survival rate of Corn Rootworm Larvae. Take a listen to our latest podcast episode on management options. Apple: apple.co/40GrpKe Spotify: spoti.fi/3ZErmxH Amazon: amzn.to/3G3xEQf

This is my least favorite scenario. Dry soils across a lot of the area with cool temps. The forecast doesn’t look great but I understand a lot of folks decision to forge ahead on planting.

Hold on tight little buddies, we are off to the races! These were planted April 8th. We have a frost forecasted this weekend, they will be fun to watch through it! @PioneerSeeds #P37A18E
