I’m from Guatemala, a country responsible for much of the illegal immigration into the US. Kamala Harris has helped strengthen the rule of law and economy of my country, leading to fewer people wanting to emigrate. I’m confident she’s the best choice to fix the US border crisis.

As holiday gift giving ramps up, let’s make sure corporations aren’t sneaking forced arbitration clauses past consumers. Tell Congress to pass the #FAIRAct for a Fair and Just Holiday season! act.consumerreports.org/uEFhcXx

Issues in Science and Technology
When it comes to critical pandemic medical supplies such as #N95 masks, the US is flying blind. Policymakers lack the necessary knowledge of the nation’s existing activities and capabilities to inform a policy response. (1/3)

@jayrosen_nyu @GSAEmily @zachfannin Is it possible she fears the harassment and threats that some Trumpists routinely level at people who displease the president? Who would step forward to defend her? Not any of her colleagues in the Trump administration.

Seems like we had a Democratic presidential hopeful who proposed this very thing.

@chrislhayes Sure. Part of it is the realization that we've got to start at the beginning again -- and continue doing so until we get the response right. Part of it is the fact that we know we won't have a leader with the skills needed until January 2021.

I'm curious if other people have had something in them break the last few weeks, where you realize "normal," or even a rough approximation of it is gone for a good long while. We've always known that at some level but I feel it intensely and viscerally right now.

@NickKristof Defund the police is a terrible slogan because it is open to so many different interpretations. Often, the first thing it conjures is eliminating police and very few citizens would want that.

The most common reader reaction to my column today seems to be that, yes, it's important to reimagine policing and reallocate some policing to social workers -- but that the specific phrase "Defund the police" is a gift to Trump. nyti.ms/3dSHFzB Thoughts?
