If I were @sigsauerinc and still had plans in the firearms space….
1. Rip off the Band‑Aid: Announce a mandatory recall/retrofit—frame rails and striker upgrades for every P320.
2. Write the check now: Establish a capped $150 million compensation fund (modeled on Remington’s rifle trigger settlement) and fast‑track legitimate injury claims.
3. Independent audit: Hire a blue‑chip failure‑analysis firm (Exova, H‑P White) and publish all findings, good or bad.
4. Launch Gen III with visible safety features—make the fix obvious at a glance; sell the message “new DNA, new decade.”
5. Shut off cagey messaging: Admit design tolerances were too tight, explain the engineering correction, stop gaslighting.
6. Over‑service law‑enforcement partners: Free replacements, on‑site armorer training, and a 10‑year parts warranty.
7. Execution costs would sting, but dragging this out is bleeding both cash and credibility; decisive remediation is cheaper than an endless courtroom‑PR death‑spiral.
