Through the Early Recovery Project, women and young people in conflict-affected communities are gaining vocational skills to start businesses and earn stable incomes. For Aiyanatu and Isa, this support has meant opportunity, independence, and hope for the future. Yesterday, the lights at UN House, 📍Abuja told a bigger story. With the sun overhead and partners united, I was honoured to join @UN_Nigeria, led by Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator @MohamedFall, and Honourable Minister @BalarabeAbbas_ @FMEnvng, as well as @abbaaliyu_ , Managing Director @REANigeria, to flip the switch on Phase 1 of the UN House Abuja Solarization & Smart Energy Upgrade, turning ambition into action. Implemented by @UNDPNigeria with sister UN agencies as #OneUN, this landmark initiative strengthens energy resilience, improves cost efficiency, and demonstrates climate leadership under @UNDP's Greening Moonshot Programme. But this is bigger than one building. Clean, reliable energy powers livelihoods, fuels enterprise, and supports Nigeria’s broader ambition for sustainable growth, energy transition, and climate resilience. Consolidating prevention gains and scaling sustainable stabilisation impact is most effective when interventions are state-led and community-driven. During a project visit to #Katsina by a delegation from @GermanyDiplo, engagements with beneficiaries and stakeholders highlighted the significant impact of the NorthWest Prevention Facility in strengthening resilience frameworks. The initiative is empowering communities and rebuilding trust between citizens and government. H.E. @dikko_radda expressed appreciation to @UNDPNigeria and @GERinNigeria for the partnership. We extend our sincere appreciation to @GERinNigeria for the generous and continued support.

On the invitation of Hon. Mukhtar Ahmed, Commissioner for Planning and Budget, I represented @UNDPNigeria in a strategic engagement with the Government of Kaduna State. The discussions with the State’s senior leadership focused on deepening collaboration around integrated planning, innovative financing, and scalable development solutions to accelerate Kaduna’s transformation agenda. We are committed to translating these conversations into structured partnerships that deliver measurable impact.

Direction. Skills. Confidence. Stability. NJFP has helped young Nigerians move from uncertainty to purpose; preparing them for the real world, building professional identity and opening doors through mentorship and belief. NJFP 2.0 will aim to scale this impact, creating stronger pathways from education to meaningful work and long-term careers.
