You steal on the pitcher. Any educated baseball mind knows that. The catcher's job is to keep things in front, steal strikes. I think you can effectively throw down to 2B from a one knee setup, but being a wall is far more important!

This one knee down catching BS has to go. I've played and coached long enough to have an educated say in this matter. I can't tell you how many runners I've seen advance because the catcher can't move to keep the ball in front. It also, IMO, puts less of a focus on blocking.

@cleforlife2369 @RuiterWrongFAN You aren't wrong, blocking the ball is the catchers job. And that just goes to show you how hard it is to block a fastball at 100mph. I'm not saying he's great /the answer long term. Just a hard thing to do. Fastballs are supposed to hit the spot...off speed in the dirt

@btrill21 @RuiterWrongFAN The job of the catcher is to block the ball just like at 1st if it’s close they should pick it. These are pros they are supposed to be the best of the best. These lights are too bright in the show for Bo

@Scott2358 @RuiterWrongFAN I corrected myself after the fact. Irregardless, blocking 100mph fastballs isn't something that is worked on. You try to find a way to keep it in front of you, but it's more of a throw your glove at it and hope you get leather on it

@RuiterWrongFAN IDC what anyone says, try to block a 90 mph fastball let alone one that clocks 100mph. Catchers don't call for fastballs in the dirt... They never look like strikes. That's on Clase, not Hedges... And I'm not defending Hedges here.
