I have never been more angry at a government in my life. Now they're going to dick around for 6 months, consuming time, putting a thin veneer of 'process' on the map they already have. They're running out the clock needed for a court challenge. #ableg

🚨BREAKING!🚨 The UCP have officially voted to ditch the Electoral Boundaries Commission Report to appoint their own commission and draw their own maps! Gerrymandering is official UCP policy in Alberta! Contrary to her script, Smith didn't even show up for the vote.

#ableg Danielle Smith: Chief of Staff (Rob Anderson) co-authored the separatist blueprint Her UCP constituency president (Mitch Sylvestre) led the separatist petition Her pal (David Parker) ran the voter data breach The UCP is a separatist movement Stop pretending otherwise
Courtney Theriault@cspotweet

Premier Smith asked is she bears blame for separation situation. She says the 14 Liberals who wrote a letter against the MOU, Avi Lewis and Dave Eby are to blame for the separatist movement in Alberta.

""To the folks who stood in the freezing cold, getting separatist signatures, I would be so angry if I were you right now, you are being used as pawns." Naheed Nenshi says he understands the frustrations of separatists and that while he doesn't agree with them, they should be angry at being used by the Premier.

Voting on whether to have a vote is a ridiculous lack of provincial leadership. Calgary is a globally connected city. Separation uncertainty is costing us jobs. We have real work to do: building homes, improving public safety, fixing infrastructure, growing our economy, and making life better.

“Premier Danielle Smith announced that she would ask citizens to vote on whether they want to stay in Canada, or hold a referendum to secede.” In the New York Times. Already. RIP investment in Alberta. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli nytimes.com/2026/05/21/wor…

Like the vast majority of Albertans, I’m both a proud Canadian, and a proud Albertan. We are a smart, hard working, innovative and loyal people. Those who went before us built one of the most prosperous and generous societies on Earth. And we’re not going to let anyone tear apart our home, the true North strong and free. It’s time to fight for our country. Alberta: let’s lead, not leave. votetostay.ca/about/

The separatist takeover of the UCP should be obvious to everyone.

When’s the next AGM??? @ABDanielleSmith is moving in the direction of getting @jasonkenny ‘d let’s have a meeting to schedule another meeting. There is no such thing as a sovereign Canada that has left the building. The longer this drags out the more dystopian communist laws will get passed by the Liberals and then it will be too late to have any vote at all. Carney also is not building any pipelines ever. They are just stalling to get to Agenda 2030. Looks like Smith is all in on 2030!!!!!

Crazy new Q1 U.S. data shows big jump in U.S. penetration of WindWaterSolar in 3 months From Q2-25 to Q1-26 SD met 126% of grid+BTM demand with WWS (v 124% in '25) MT met 112% (vs 102% in '25) WA met 88% (v 78% in '25) WY met 82% (v 77% in '25) .. TX met 37% (v 35.4% in '25) U.S. met 26.43% (v 25.7% in '25) Growth due to a combo of solar, hydro, wind U.S.-wide Q2-25 to Q1-26 10.71% wind 5.98% hydro 0.36% geo 7.08% utility PV 2.3% BTM PV web.stanford.edu/group/efmh/jac…

Great news! New Q1 U.S. data show that not only do higher penetrations of WindWaterSolar still correlate with lower residential retail electricity prices in the U.S., but that correlation has strengthened in just three months! What is more, of the 16 states that met 37% to 126% of their grid+BTM demand with WWS from Q2-25 to Q1-26, 14 had prices 1.5-5.5 cents/kWh BELOW the U.S. average! -->claims that increasing WWS increases prices are not true web.stanford.edu/group/efmh/jac…

Edmonton is and always will be a vital part of Canada. Premier Smith and the UCP Government's separatist agenda is catastrophic for Edmontonians, Albertans, and all Canadians.

New rule: you can't call it a "pro Canada" speech when the speech includes a referendum on a referendum to leave Canada.

Alberta, let this sink in: In Canadian history, only 2 premiers initiated referenda on separating from Canada: - René Lévesque 1980 - Jacques Parizeau 1995 Both Quebec separatists who nearly destroyed Canada. Today, Danielle Smith will join their ranks. #ableg #cdnpoli

@BlaineBadiuk I’ll break it down: 1. Lukaszuk checked the POLICY box 2. He did not check the referendum box. 3. That’s the legal mechanism under the Citizen Initiative Act 4. He knew the UCP would violate the law 5. He added a caveat to protect Albertans 6. The UCP twisted his caveat.
