@megbasham He didn’t erase a literal Adam and Eve. He said they were called out from others and given God particular image and design. Uniquely set apart to fulfill God’s purposes for the world

This is why I said yesterday when I was asking for apologetics material, I don’t want someone like this. Because if they don’t trust the Word, then I don’t trust them.
Protestia@Protestia
"There were what we might call hominids- human like creatures- we might even call them proto-humans" Apologist N.T. Wright explains that if Adam and Eve literally existed, they were likely were 'human-like' primates that lived 200,000-5 million years ago.

Maybe getting the opportunity to play Augusta National unlimited times the month leading into The Masters, while skipping three straight tournaments, gave Rory McIlroy an unfair advantage over the other competitors… Just maybe.
Congrats, or whatever.

@realmattcarr @RonManess2 Just like God’s calling of Abraham, the narrative seems to work with God’s plan being initiated in calling of Adam and Eve to begin His partnership with humanity and creating a world in which they could flourish and have dominion.
English

@RonManess2 @buck5575 Emphatic… eh.
Keller’s a hero of mine. But in his writing for biologos, etc, I don’t think he was as clear as he could’ve been. I’m glad he clarified on the video but I def wouldn’t use the word emphatic.
English

That’s a lot of theological brainpower you’re pitting yourself against.
Matt@realmattcarr
NT Wright, CS Lewis, Tim Keller, and others I admire who did or do not believe in the special creation of Adam and Eve as the first humans, were/are just plain wrong.

@CharlesAVaughn @realmattcarr I enjoyed Genesis Unbound as an alternative exposition of the narrative.
English

@realmattcarr @buck5575 One of my OT profs did a dissertation on the topic. I'll try and find it.
English

@realmattcarr @buck5575 Maybe I'd rephrase to, non-rational creature death before the fall.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

Andy Robertson epitomised everything that you wanted in a Liverpool player as a Liverpool fan. Heart, effort, desire and some fantastic football, particularly those years where he was hitting double digit assists every season.
He always put the club first and had the bravery to stand in front of the cameras when it wasn't easy, after some poor performances from the whole team. That's Andy Robertson, a leader. He was there in some of the greatest days in the history of the club.
A legend, he will be remembered fondly by all fans. What a bargain. What a player. What a person.

Truncated gospel or not, this was actually good for me to hear.
Brandon Tatum@TheOfficerTatum
Pastor Joel Osteen (est. $100M net worth) claps back at critics accusing him of living large off church donations: 'I’ve never taken a salary from the church…' He says his wealth comes from book sales and speaking fees instead

Liverpool were ripped apart by PSG tonight. Easy to blame Slot. Harder to accept that Liverpool are now a team in transition. I think Slot deserves time to oversee that transition. Others don't. dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…
