@Phil__Smith More chance of me getting the boots back on at 52 and playing centre half on Saturday than this getting overturned

#SAFC have decided to appeal Dan Ballard's red card at Wolves
FA panel will now decide whether to uphold or overturn decision, and additionally whether three-game ban is appropriate

@2NarMe Not saying owt mate, apart from the constant bleating of ‘we had to sell Anderson, PSR made us’ is for the birds.
The rules, whether you agree with them or not, weren’t a surprise to anyone at NUFC surely?
My club sold Jobe at a massive PSR allowing us to buy Xhaka and Sadiki
English

@buck_paul Ah right. So effectively you’re saying don’t sign quality players to stay in the PL. Or, sign them but bur accept you can’t sign anyone else other than your homegrown players to comply with nonsense rules suited to a select number of clubs in the PL? Give owa!!
English

@2NarMe Emmm, I get that selling an academy product is essentially 100% profit towards the regulations but it was only Newcastle that got themselves into the position where they were getting close to breaching PSR no one else. Tripier 100’s of 1000’s a week in wages anyone?
English

@buck_paul That’s not correct, Paul. He was sold because the rules incentivise selling academy nurtured players. It was also two windows before Newcastle signed the players you are alluding to.

🥴 ❌ Bruno Guimarães has been ruled out for 6-8 WEEKS with a hamstring tear.
🇧🇷 ‼️ The Newcastle captain sustained the injury against Tottenham on Tuesday, and is set to miss the next 10 games.
👨🏻⚕️ A scan on Wednesday revealed the extent of the injury.
🙏🏻 #NUFC are hopeful the 28-year-old will be back after the March international break — but he will miss the derby vs Sunderland and the Champions League last 16, should Newcastle get past Qarabag.

@Scottwilsonecho Mate a newspaper pays you actually money and you think that’s a penalty

Everton equalise in the 89th minute. Aznou turns in the box and Hume barges into him. Soft, but probably a foul. Garner rolls home from the spot. #SAFC 1-1

@RokerReport Guessing there is probably a clause somewhere in his contract but if not, now we’re in the Premier League, with no need to sell the price should have doubled from last week

Manchester United fans are paying for the mismanagement of the club by the Glazers. Again. The second biggest club in the world (after Real Madrid), United generate fortunes in revenue yet are associated with debt. Until co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe buys out the “nicest people on the planet” the club will carry the stigma of association with the Glazers. Ratcliffe, rightly, has to run the club more sustainably but why punish loyal, long-suffering supporters with ticket price hikes when the debt is not theirs. Get the Glazers to address their debt.
The £35m interest repayment in latest accounts is far more than the additional revenue the club will generate with its new, unpopular ticket price hikes. Ratcliffe could have frozen prices like certain other clubs, generated some goodwill which might have sent more fans into the megastore. The amount of money United make from these hikes doesn’t cover what they overpaid on certain players. At least Ratcliffe is beginning to address recruitment flaws. But why alienate fans, who have been the one positive constant about United over the past decade? Incredible support, home and away, despite the often wretched football.
Now most ticket prices rise by 5% for next season, the club announces (and the only consolation is it could have been worse). 50% increases for some seniors - “our most loyal generational fans who have supported the club for decades” as described by fans’ group @The__1958. “Cutting the 50% OAP concession to 25% for those who had it is a total disgrace”.
The club says it’s sorting anomalies on concessions and says it’s about financial sustainability. Only Under-16s escape a rise. Moving loyal fans from around the dug-outs to make way for more lucrative corporates etc will affect the atmosphere and risks issues with segregation (as seen at certain other clubs). Loyal fans deserve more respect from their club. #MUFC

@DwightDD64 @JamesCopley_ We haven’t sat back 😂 Mepham and O9 starting positions is 10 yards outside the box when they have the ball their midfield has all the time in the world when they have the ball. Playing counter attack football at home to Watford
English

@buck_paul @JamesCopley_ We haven’t sat back. We’ve kept creating chances. They get an attack then we stupidly lunge that’s the only way they’ve scored
English

Decent start. Shot themselves in the foot for the equaliser. Watford will gain confidence from that opening 45.
