I know the idiom, but bovine meat is called Baṛe kā gosht /māns बड़े का गोश्त/मांस or बड़ा गोश्त baṛā gosht ( literally "meat of the big one") in India & Pakistan! In this sociolinguistic process people rename prohibited food items into items which sound permitted or sanctified

I’m fine with the normalization of print-on-demand books because the infrastructure for them has improved dramatically in recent years, and it allows books to stay in circulation forever. There’s not enough warehouse space on earth to perpetually house all of the books ever!

Family was on a Bhutan trip for vacation recently with a pan India group, one of the ladies in that group started to pluck flowers from a park. Obviously the local administration stopped them. And now she is justifying herself back home. Mind you this lady and her husband (1/2)
