FAQ degrees and credit scores defining you.
Dropped out after 2 years. Parents wanted a doctor or lawyer. I had other plans.

That landed me at Yuga as socials lead for 4 years. Bought my first home.
Started the first onchain fantasy football drafting platform while still there. Millions in prizes given out. Last year's contest 3x'd the year before.
SBS is now my full focus. Been heads down for months learning and building with Claude Code - zero dev experience. Can't wait to show people what's coming.
The goal? Build SBS into the biggest fantasy sports platform in the world.
None of it followed the script. All of it was possible.
Find something broken that you care about. Build. Believe. Make mistakes. Keep going.
The tools exist. The opportunity is real. The only thing standing between you and it is you.

The credit system demands you have perfect credit while being trillions in debt. The education system charges 300k for a degree when the information is free online. The financial system says you need funding to compete… and yet open source devs are getting acquired left and right. Why? Because AI doesn’t care about your degree. Crypto doesn’t care about your credit score. Open source doesn’t care about your funding. They only care about what you can build, and the people who can build with AI are running laps around every institution that told them they couldn’t. All you need now? A GitHub and a vision. Everything else is noise.

Eras aren't meant to be endless. They're meant to complete, including my era at the helm of @cryptopunks.
Stewardship, by definition, is temporary. It's caretaking until something can stand on its own, or until you no longer need to mediate it. In my eyes, stewardship was never about control or ownership. It was about care and support. That's the role my stewardship played, to make room for something more permanent. A home.
CryptoPunks have found homes before. On Ethereum. In a big pink book. MoMA. I found my home with my Punks, more than ever when I lost my physical home in the fires. Home is a place you can return to. Home carries memory. Home gives structure to something alive without fixing it in place. And that's the spirit I hope continues for this project and the community with @nodefnd as their home.
Under my care, CryptoPunks moved from the artists who made them, through Yuga, and landing softly at NODE. Helping open the Foundation's doors with the first solo Punks exhibition, this was an incredible honor and a wonderful encore after I stepped down as GM last year. Thankful to Micky, Becky, and the entire NODE team for that opportunity.
And now I'm going back to the beginning. To the source. To my new home. Matt & John. I'm officially joining @larvalabs.
I spent my last chapter taking care of the collection. Now I'm working with the creators who made that collection. My focus will be on their legacy beyond CryptoPunks alone, the studio's day to day work, and supporting their incomparable vision wherever it leads.
More on everything else I'm thinking about soon.

Probably cannot beat today’s pickup streak. Huge thanks to @sergitosergito for brokering and its previous owner for letting go this hoodie Visitor @MeebitsNFTs.
Meebits were creation of @matthall2000 and @pents90 as metaverse/3D extension of cryptopunks.
Visitors/aliens are population/pop 18, 9% same ratio to CP universe.
This is my favorite Visitor, because:
- Purple (Lakers colorway, 90s 1of1 card colorway)
- “Hoodie alien” (a combo that doesn’t exist in CP, here pop 3)
- Camo (pants) is a mini Autoglyph style, unique in each generation. Pop 3 among Visitors. Always wanted this trait.
- Basketball shoes (pop 4 with V) fitting my basketball card collector/fan/baller background. Pop 2 for black shoes, Black mamba (the other is with a black suit, which can be thought of dress shoes there, so maybe pop 1 here LOL).
- Really clean, no head decoration (pop 5) and no further tattoo (pop 4). I do like tattoo (which also often helps to bring rarity number way down).
- 4-Color/tune match, Visitor skin, purple hoodie, blue camo, background (no choice) are as colormatch as it gets.
- With last two traits combined, clean colormatch, this is the only Visitor. One of a kind.
- Type is the alpha. Often as a new collector in a PFP project, traits (including type) vs rarity vs appeal (clean and aesthetic) which takes (personal) priority is not easy but it’s apparent here.
- Alien ear looks like S for Spino.
- 18868 6832 (item number rarity number) are just very nice numbers with 6 and 8 (6=smooth, 8=prosperity, 18 Kobe’s all stars appearances). 32 is Kobe’s debut jersey number (Magic) for Lakers at summer camp (famous Chinese broadcaster Su Qun saw him and coined his name translation which sticks and Kobe is the only player called with first name). Two coincidence of 68 to end and begin probably rare among all meebits too.
- Its rarity among Visitors is ranked to 16th, would be 8 if 10000 PFP adjusted. Also the hoodie logo has 8 items. Both are Kobe jersey number related in my view. Two groups of 3 vertical strips for 3 threepeat Finals appearances x2. Two + for two Finals MVP back to back, the only player in NBA history to do so without another top 75 player on his team.
- Kobe’s jersey is purple and gold and when in “Visitor” jersey (away jersey), it’s mainly purple based, very fitting/pun here.
- The design of arms over knees actually has historical reference in China history as well. Liu Bei (ruling a Nation then based near my wife’s home city) in Three Nations was said to be so. Every Chinese knows this fact.
- Visitors during heydays were selling $1.1M a piece (I didn’t pay that much but still way higher than last recent comp thanks to eth volatility to 1/2). Good that I don’t need to break out 8 figure for an alien punk. This is a good enough alternative. For now. LOL.
- Would love a Dissected one day (to finish my three piece) but don’t want to dissect my hobby fund to chase grails just yet. LOL.
- Meebits is the first PFP brand to roll out a sports collectible (derivative) release. In Futbol. I grabbed Messi 10 in Argentine, paired with my Messi debut on #PaniniBlockchain. So happy to show my support here in a big way as I believe sports has largest addressable market and strongest IP and is a universal language and an escape.
- Matt and John’s CryptoPunks were inspired by sportscards and stickers which are both Panini known for, as I’m big in Panini cards and Blockchain cards, it’s a great lineage connection.
- I also have pop1 normie hoodie alien (unmodified) as well to pair, which I obtained after this deal with inspiration from this item (this deal was agreed earlier and executed today).
Someone once commented that the length of post of pickup in cards corresponds to how degen (overpaid, hyped, passionate) he is. Maybe I will stop here due to self-awareness (or word limit). Pretty sure I will discover more interesting tidbits as time goes on. LOL.
