They drain the working class dry by charging exorbitant rates necessities, then mollify us with consumerism, and we are in the process of swapping the state for the rich

@Niertard for a long time, and even now honestly, most fantasy anime were just some half baked LN adaptation being vomited out that skipped a lot of world buildig expecting cultural knowledge of ttrpgs, DQ, and old MMOs to fill in the gaps

@byamarachi To put more simply: the ideals of meritocracy only function if we are all starting at the same point, a scenario that could only exists in moneyless, classless society, but half a century of propaganda and institutionalized consumerism have pretty much killed that possibility.

@byamarachi this is the hypocrisy of meritocracy: the rich can afford tutors, supplies, and private schooling to greatly increase the chances of their child succeeding, meanwhile the working class can barely afford to pay bills and groceries on two or more incomes.

Hot take Memberships are not donations. They are literally paying you to make content thats why you pay taxes on them. It is REASONABLE to expect a content creator to atleast update their audience. And even more reasonable to leave when there are MONTHS of silence

I don’t understand super rich people’s end game. If no one has a living wage… they can’t buy your products, services or rent the properties the rich own/hoard. So wouldn’t it all collapse?
