Bunkers in Baghdad

What began as a small act of support has grown into a meaningful way to stay connected to our brave servicemembers – men and women who give so much in service to our nation, both at home and around the world. While what we do will never compare to their sacrifices, we are honored to offer a simple outlet for recreation, reflection, and recovery from the physical and mental demands of military life. Bunkers in Baghdad has now delivered 17 MILLION golf balls to our amazing troops serving across the globe and here at home. Though what we do pales in comparison to the sacrifices made by those who serve our nation, we are privileged to provide our servicemembers with a source of recreation to de-stress from the rigors of military life and rehabilitation to help recover from service-related injuries. We are deeply grateful to our donors, sponsors, and partners, including the @HyFlyers_GC, @PhilMickelson, @livgolf_league, @CallawayGolf, @Topgolf, Goldberg Segalla, and those who make our “Bunkers Buddies” program possible. We are proud of the impact we have made together and look forward to what lies ahead.

It is truly remarkable to pause and reflect on just how far we have come. In 2008, Bunkers in Baghdad was a small, grassroots effort that sent a single shipment of golf balls overseas – a simple way to remind our troops that they were in our hearts and on our minds. Today, that effort has grown into a global mission. As we approach Memorial Day, we are proud to share that Bunkers in Baghdad has now delivered 17 MILLION golf balls, along with more than 1.9 million golf clubs, to our brave men and women serving around the world and here at home, reaching troops in 99 countries. This milestone is amazing, and it would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, partners, and the more than 3,000 schools that support our mission through programs like Bunkers Buddies. Your belief in our cause allows us to continue serving those who serve us. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this achievement possible. We could not be more proud!

Very grateful to have been able to host a few of our nation’s service members in Virginia this past weekend. In partnership with @bunkersinbaghdad we also sponsored a postcard station for fans to write postcards to our military while at the event. Today marks the beginning of Military Appreciation Month. Throughout the month of May, we encourage everyone to keep our brave men and women in uniform in their thoughts as they continue to sacrifice and serve in defense of our nation and our freedom.

Join us for the 17th Annual Bunkers in Baghdad Open on Monday, June 15, at Cloverbank Country Club in Hamburg, NY. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year and plays a critical role in supporting our troops deployed across the globe and veterans here at home. The day begins with registration and lunch at 11:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon, and wraps up with cocktails and dinner back at the clubhouse. So come show off your drive, putt for prizes, enjoy the best golfer gift bag around, and, most importantly, play for the troops.
