The main role of the President of Ireland is to serve as the head of state, a largely ceremonial position. The President represents Ireland both domestically and internationally, performs constitutional duties such as signing bills into law, and acts as a guardian of the Constitution.

@kenfoxe We always said ‘down to Omagh’ even though it’s north of us, which confused me. My Da explained though that the river runs towards Omagh, then it made sense. It’s ‘Down to Omagh and up to Enniskillen’.

If you live in Dublin, how many counties are "up to", how many are "down to" and how many are "over to"? As in "down to Kerry", "up to Donegal", or "over to Galway". There needs to be a map to understand this.
