💔 The current Taiji dolphin slaughter season recently ended as of Feb. 28, 2026, leaving a devastating toll: 393 dead, 84 taken for captivity. Of the animals taken, 81 were bottlenose dolphins, 2 were short-finned pilot whales, and 1 was a rough-toothed dolphin. Among those slaughtered, 134 were striped dolphins, 68 were Risso’s dolphins, 128 were melon-headed whales, and 61 were short-finned pilot whales. 🐬💔 The 84 dolphins captured endured extreme trauma during the brutal hunt and will now spend the rest of their lives in tiny tanks, forced to perform tricks for tourists instead of swimming free in the wild. The travel industry should—and could—take a stand by removing venues that profit from these hunts through captive dolphins. Travelers can help too: never support attractions that keep dolphins in captivity. Dolphins are intelligent, social, and deserve freedom, not a life of terror and exploitation. Well, here we are at 9.30pm in HoL on last day of the Crime and Policing Bill at Report Stage, that's when we vote on amendments. We have reached the group on abortion, which is VERY controversial here. Lots of long speeches, lots of attempts at intervention, a heated debate. 1/n

We have ELEVEN bishops here - the most I have ever seen on our benches. I presume they are here to stop Clause 208 (with fine religious words), which gives more protection to women who have abortions. I strongly support the Clause, but there are many passionate maudlin speeches.

I don’t get it. If Hezbollah had flats in this block (unlikely in central Beirut but not impossible) why did the Israelis give everyone inside an hour to get out — including those they wanted to kill? And if there weren’t any Hezbollah people there, why destroy a building with dozens of civilians in it?
