@harryknass @CLL @jhenhawk17 Usually Jr B teams will not prevent players from running with Jr A teams, however, a Jr B team can prevent players from signing with Jr A teams after they lose 2 players to other Jr A teams each year. As far as I know, a drafted player is included in the 2 lost players. OLA rule

Anyone else get “denied approval” from the OLA to go play in Prague next month or is it just the kids from Six? Apparently some kids here were told they would not be approved “for many reasons” but were not given any reasons 🤦‍♂️

The new OLA Minor Team Folding & Redistribution Policy raises real questions. When a small group of players from a folded team have played together long-term but don’t meet roster minimums — why is separation the default solution? At a time when retention matters most, how does this strengthen the game? I’m not sure how this backs “growing the game.” If neighbouring centres don’t have enough numbers, the solution seems simple — allow them to combine and keep kids together. I’ve received multiple messages from OLA members. One said: “We’re trying to keep kids in lacrosse, not push them out over technicalities.” Another: “We’re already fighting numbers. Splitting these kids up guarantees some of them won’t come back.” And another: “These aren’t numbers on a spreadsheet. These are kids who just want to play with their friends. Grassroots lacrosse survives on relationships — not regulations.
