Eedris Abdulkareem’s “Live In Yankee” in 2002 predicted the Grammy win for Burna Boy in 2021, with the involvement of Puff Daddy. If you watch Eedris’ video and the part where he met and hugged “Puff Daddy”, it was exactly the way Burna hugged the real Puff Daddy after meeting him after the Grammy win for an album that was executive produced by Puff Daddy. “Enemies, e ma ku te ba gbo pe mo gba Grammy…”. Art imitating Life.
Nostalgic Naija@NostalgicVibeNG

This classic banger is one of the standout tracks from Eedris Abdulkareem’s breakthrough album Mr. Lecturer, originally dropped in 2002. "Live in Yankee” is a proper humorous storytelling jam about a guy who swears to marry his babe back home in Naija, only to japa to “Yankee” and ghost her. Eedris flexes hard in character bragging about chilling with Puff Daddy, copping a Lexus Jeep, and eyeing a Grammy win in New York. Did you vibe to this one back in the day?

Liz Benson was one of Nollywood's first superstars. The 1990s. The VHS era. Before streaming. Before cinemas. Before social media. She was the face that every household in Nigeria knew. From Etinan, Akwa Ibom. Then at the height of her fame, she walked away. She gave her life to faith, moved to Manchester, United Kingdom, became an ordained pastor, and never looked back. Some called it a waste. Some called it a loss for Nollywood. Liz Benson called it a calling. Akwa Ibom has produced stars who conquered Nigeria's screens and stars who conquered their own souls.

1999 U20 World Cup: Baiano stole the show in Calabar✨😱 Brazil defeated Croatia 4-0 in the Round of 16 at UJ Esuene. Ronaldinho [Ronaldo] starred by scoring two goals to seal victory. However, his brace was somewhat overshadowed by Fernando Baiano's outrageous panenka penalty.

As beautiful as the Lagos Calabar Coastal road is, it hasn't stopped some Nigerians from going there to drop their faeces, erect dirty looking umbrellas and be selling alcoholic sachets, drinks and food along the sidewalks. Let no one come and rant on my head that it's because they're poor... Is Nigeria the only country with poor people? Does being poor remove one's sense of decency? You're poor but you're knowledgeable enough to know that you put food in your mouth to eat, not in your nose or ears! We are our own worst enemy!

“One funny thing with Nigeria is that many things are happening. If someone drinks sachet water and throws it on the expressway, they will say it is caused by Tinubu. When it blocks drainage, they will say it is the governor’s problem. “Everybody is deviating from their own personal responsibilities, and that is the majority of what is happening in Nigeria…..”

Her mum set me up, she injected my sp+rm into herself — Boxer Deontay Wilder opens about his daughter born with a deformity Heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder has shared an emotional account of his journey into fatherhood, revealing the life-changing impact of raising a child born with Spina bifida. Speaking during an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Wilder said, “It had a strong impact on my life because I chose to keep her.” He went on to describe a deeply personal and controversial situation surrounding the conception of his daughter, claiming, “Her mother didn’t… she tried to set me up… she injected my sperm and ran in the bathroom and locked the door, and that’s how we had her.” The former world champion alleged that he became suspicious due to past patterns in their relationship, stating, “I’m smart… when we was having s+x, I used to come on her stomach… this particular time… she hit my hand so hard… and screamed ‘no!’” According to him, the incident was followed by behavior that raised further concerns. Wilder also expressed disappointment over what he described as neglect during the pregnancy, saying the child’s mother “didn’t do all the right things… take prenatal vitamins… she was just worried about having my child.” He linked this to his daughter being born with spina bifida. Despite being given the option to terminate the pregnancy, Wilder said his decision was guided by conviction and emotion. “It’s just something in my heart… I felt like she deserved to live,” he said. “I wanted to take up the opportunity of taking care of a child that’s in need… she needed me as I needed her.” He further claimed that the child’s mother showed little concern about the situation, adding, “She had no remorse… she didn’t even think I was going to make the decision that I made.”
